1600-1800
I had been badly lagging on the religion spreading duties. I
get Hinduism to Philly (I had had so many failures with missionaries there and
at Boston…this is an embarrassingly late date to
get my first religion in one of my core 3 cities), and have Sparta spread Christianity (it was the holy
city) to my cities to allow for those Cathedrals. Also I found Los
Angeles in the spot east of New York,
gambling that I can defend it against another Rome war.

Notice that Egypt
has just been destroyed! Whoops. Couldn’t do much about that one though – if
anyone can manage to keep all of the other AI civs alive during this game, I
will be very impressed!

Post Egypt’s
destruction, the entire world goes through a strangely peaceful time.
Everyone’s chewing on those post Liberalism techs, methinks.
I have a note here that that cow right next to Washington is hooked up
via rode for the VERY FIRST TIME in 1655. I guess I always had cows from other
places available, but that’s still absurd.

Hey, awesome. Now that I have rifles, I’ve been wanting to
continue what I started with Sparta
anyways….Alex is in for a big surprise, since I sell a few techs and upgrade a
lot of muskets to rifles.

The force I assemble outside Athens – I take it fairly easily.
Genghis declares on me again in 1709, and I induce Peter to
declare on him the next turn, which
bumps my relations with Peter up to pleased! I take Frankfurt, and then Corinth (the city in the
desert up by the incense and iron) easily and take peace with Alex.

At some point (I lose track of all of these damn
declarations) Rome declares on me AGAIN, and I take Neapolis (just east of LA)
– but the city ends up most of its like being in Russian cultural revolt…I get
tired of wasting my troops there and just end up gifting it back to Rome.
I thought I’d include some of what my notes look like as I’m
writing them down live:
“1742 Peace w/ Caesar
1744 Toku piles on Greece
1764 Great Prophet born (first one!)
1766 Peace w/ Mongols, Kong Mao constructed, huge econ boost
All musketmen icons look like Adam Morrison – make joke
about this
1772 use cultural slider to 10% for first time”

The Japanese war against Greece proceeds MUCH faster than I
thought it was, and the Greek are wiped out!!

I endeavor to not let any more AI civs perish!
On to Act 5 and the Conclusion
