BWardly's Civ Reports

Adventure 20
Adventure 20 was a great leisurely game. Nice to have something you could play without any of that planning or skill crap - a good palette cleanser before Epic12.

But there will accordingly little effort put into the report...just the gist of things.

I decided I wanted to play just to have fun with religion - as spreading it is inherently fun. I wanted to found religions in as many different cities as possible to get to use markets and banks in myriad cities.I start off by founding Buddhism, but  was too lazy to get a picture. I didn't want to get a religion unless I had a city ready for it, so I ended up letting Hinduism (and Judiasm) get away.

My second city placement.

Stonehenge to get those prophet points going.

3rd city placement.

Axeman noticing a barb city on my next mental dot. Heading over to investigate...

One's all it took! Huzzah for Noble difficulty.

In the (green) zone.

Oracle...I can't recall if I used it to get Metal Casting or Code of Laws.

Confucianism founds in Baghdad. Not the ideal location.

Get Christianity, which founds in Carib (the captured Barb city).

Way to be a jerk, Catherine. You'll pay!...in 1500 years.

Working on the religious spread.

Founding another city.

Medina (my second city) founds Taoism, and I build the Dai Miao.

Napoleon being foolish. Basically he just sends a trickle of soldiers over to Medina in the northeast...but never posts a threat. Meanwhile I get work on guilds to get to camel archers...

My longbow losing and a pretty high percentage...eff dat s.

Damascus is the holy city for Islam.

Once I got my camel archers up, I started taking on Napoleon.

With ample religion spread, my economy is doing pretty well.

Continuing the march on France.

50 gold per turn in Mecca even at 100% science.

French are destroyed.

Versailles was somewhat against the spirit of the game....but wasn't forbidden. I compromised by building it in Paris for themeatic purposes.

As you can tell, some time has elapsed...I went through a slew of turns without picture taking. Basically after taking France I beelined to Military Tradition and let my Calvary go to town. First against Russia (Moscow was the holy city for both Judaism and Hinduism).

Then I turned my attention on Germany, and got my Domination victory in 1740.

Here's a look at my religion screen

I have 5 banks/markets/grocers...for each of my holy cities.

GNP.

Calvary are fast.

An enjoyable game to play, if not an enjoyable report to read. I didn't push myself or anything, just have fun spreading religions before sweeping across the desert sands. I love warfare I don't have to think about. I love challenging victories even more, though.
