You have entered the totally depressing site of how Busted broke up. Here you'll find tons of info about it, how to contact the band, links, pics and more. I'm already feeling depressed. What about you?
What's this?! You've never heard of Busted?! Tsk, tsk...how you've been missing out! Go to this Wal-Mart page to hear samples of some of their songs. In the UK, you'll find these songs (plus more) separated onto different CDs. Appearently, In Canada and the US, you can get "their best songs" on one CD. The music samples are *sigh*, only 30 seconds long - but you may get to know Busted a bit better. Actually...you're kinda SLOW on the music scene...they've already split up! Go to this Amazon.co.uk site for all their albums including this 'special' version of "A Present For Everyone" and "Busted". |

March 3, 2005
Firstly, I've been searching for Busted news, and guess what I found. Lots of news, but in an odd place: VJScorpio - your source for videos. VJScorpio forums - an unusual source for Busted news. I found the following on there:
1. James and Matt were spotted at Heathrow Airport a couple of days ago heading for Birmingham together. 2. James has recently been holding his new band auditions and Matt has accompanied him for moral support. 3. James was in Dublin on February 16th on a search for a bassist. 4. There was an article in the Star reporting that Matt may be doing a collaboration with Robbie Williams - what the hell?! That's probably based on the picture of them together at the Brit awards. Hmm. 5. Oh, and something about Matt nicknaming Damon... KING BADGER (?!).
Secondly, It seems we're not on the charts anymore . We arn't on the UK Top 40 Chart and I can't seem to find the Top 100. I'm just going to guess at this... What I Go To School For has officialy been removed from the charts . Thanks to everyone who bought the single. I hope Busted relises how much time (and money... £6!) we put into this.
March 4, 2005
A few days ago Fightstar had a little interview in which they said they would be performing on Kerrang today. What is Kerrang? No clue. Hey... I live in Canada! (P.S. - I'm pretty sure it's a radio station. Try it out!)

"Says Matt Willis: "It's a really sad day for all of us but we've always said that if one member left then we'd call it a day. The last three years have been unbelievable and I'd like to say a massive thank you to all our fans- you've been amazing.""
"Says Charlie Simpson: "I'm incredibly proud of everything that we've achieved in Busted. We've enjoyed some of the best times in our lives together. I wouldn't change one single bit of it. This has been a really difficult decision and I hope the fans will understand.""

Boy band Busted decide to split |
Busted announced their split at a London press conference | Chart-topping band Busted have announced they are to split up.
The decision comes just days after band member Charlie Simpson said he was temporarily parting company with bandmates James Bourne and Matt Willis.
"It's a really sad day for all of us, but we've always said that if one member left then we'd call it a day," Willis told Busted's official website.
"This has been a really difficult decision and I hope the fans will understand," added Simpson.
'Devastated'
"We're not going to carry on because Busted needs to be remembered the way Busted was - not two of us carrying it on," said the band's James Bourne at a press conference in central London.
"We're sorry the fans had to find out through the papers. We wanted to tell them ourselves," he added.
Simpson, 19, said he wanted to "set the record straight" after speculation about the group's future.
 |
We're not going to carry on because Busted needs to be remembered the way Busted was
|
He added he wanted to quash rumours about not getting on with his bandmates, saying: "I've had the most amazing three years."
Bourne, 21, said he was "devastated" about Simpson's departure, to concentrate on his other musical project, a band called Fightstar.
The act have been playing together for a year. Busted's split comes a day after Fightstar added 13 dates to a UK tour.
Support
Bourne and 21-year-old Willis have said they also plan to carry on their careers in the music industry, while the band are not ruling out the prospect of a reunion.
"Never say never. If we're all skint with seven kids when we're 25, then maybe," said Willis.
He also voiced his thanks for the support Busted have received from their fans in the past few years.
Busted won a prize at 2004's Brit Awards ceremony |
They have said there are no plans for a farewell single, but they would like to do something special to thank their supporters.
Busted fan Lynda White, 16, travelled from Reading, Berkshire, to witness their farewell, and said she simply wanted to "say goodbye and get a reality check".
But fellow fan Kate Mills, 18, from Wolverhampton, said she would not be following Simpson's new musical venture.
Successful
"It would have been better if he'd announced what he was doing at the end of the last tour and got on with it,"she said.
Busted first hit the charts in September 2002 and have since scored eight top ten hits, including four number ones.
Their last chart-topper Thunderbirds won the Record of the Year award.
The trio had a successful 2004, winning the Brit Award for best breakthrough act as well as a nomination for best group.
The band's reputation as a live act has also been strong, seeing them fill arenas on a regular basis.

From Ireland On Line:
Former Busted star Charlie Simpson came close to quitting the group over a year ago, after becoming infuriated with having to pose for a teenage magazine cover.
The Crashed The Wedding musician was frustrated at having to dress up as one of the 'Three Kings' in a reconstruction of the Christian nativity scene for British publication It's Hot in December 2003.
And Simpson, who left Busted earlier this month to concentrate on hard- rocking band Fightstar, credits the moment with making him realise life in a boyband was not for him.
Simpson says: "It's been really confusing. Before Busted I was in bands with my mates back home, then the next thing I was living in London and dressing up as a king.
"It's not that I haven't enjoyed Busted, but Busted is a p**s around and the aim of being in bands, ultimately, is to be in your 'favourite' band.
"That's the idea with Fightstar. Not to sell records."

December 21, 2004
There have been reports in the papers today that Charlie nearly announced he was leaving at a charity gig on Saturday.
But the record company have told Radio 1 it's completely untrue and they'll be bringing out a new album next year.

Fight Star

Now Busted are officially "taking a break," Charlie Simpson has plenty of time to spend with his other band Fightstar.
But who are they and what are they all about?
Charlie plays guitar and sings in the four-piece band, and we're sure the rest of them are happy to soak up the free publicity the top popster gets them.
Joining Charlie on vocals and guitar is Alex Westaway, with Dan Haigh on bass
and Omar Abidi on drums.
Heavier than Busted
Fightstar are quite a heavy band, and they've been compared to bands like Biffy Clyro. We reckon they're a bit like Lostprophets. But probably with bigger eyebrows.
Charlie's looking rock! |
Click on the link on the top of the page to hear a clip of them playing live.
You probably won't have seen them play live, as they've only had the chance to play little venues because of Charlie's commitment to Busted.
Reviews of the shows have been good, with the last gig sold out, and people queuing around the block.
So, if you like your music with a little bit of darkness, and you're not a Busted fan, give them a try!
Fightstar's first release, an EP called They Liked You Better When You Were Dead, is out on 28 February.

*~~BUSTED TRIBUTE - WOO HOO! - WE GOT IT TO NUMBER 86!!~~*
|
---May be out-dated... sorry!---
As you may be aware, a group of Busted fans (Kat being the leader) are planning for lots of people to buy What I Go To School For on the week starting 14th February.
What I Go To School For was released in the UK on September 16th 2002, in Japan on 21st June 2003, and just last year, it was released in America. Now we plan to get it back into the UK charts as a thank you to Busted for everything they have done for us in that past two and a half years.
Of course, since it's not being released officially, it's up to us to promote the idea. Here are some icons for you to put as your MSN display picture, avatar on message boards, and wherever else you can get it.

For even more, go to the Busted tribute livejournal community.
PLEASE promote on forums, write to magazines, do anything you can to promote! We need your help. Thanks. :-D
FAQoads of you have been asking questions about the tribute single, so I've decided to answer some of them here.
Q: Will What I Go To School For count in the official charts?
A: The official singles chart is based on single sales, so I don't see why not. If you want to help in other charts, email radio stations and request air play for the single (eg. on hit40uk.com, Capital FM, radio 1 etc).
Q: Do I have to buy from hmv.co.uk?
A: Okay, I've done some research into this, because it's thought that Amazon sales do not count towards the official chart. However, according to some sites, it DOES count - but ONLY if the item is sent to a UK postal address. That means that people outside the UK are going to have to either buy from hmv.co.uk or ask someone in the UK to send WIGTSF on to them.
Q: Can I email newspapers and radio stations about the plan?
A: Yes! Any promotion is good, and we need all the help we can get.
Q: Do you think the single will get no.1?
A: No. <From Busted Breakup: Probably not.> There are literally not enough copies left - it is estimated that there are around 9-10,000 at most. Usually to get in the top 40 though, you only need to sell a few hundred copies. Obviously since it's not an official release, that's easier said than done.
~~ UPDATE! ~~
We made it to the Top 100!!
February 22, 2005
Firstly, What I Go To School For is number 86. At least we got it in the top 100 haha.
Secondly, Kat has been invited down to do an interview with NEWSROUND about the plan, wowwww. She's invited me along too, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to make it. Still pretty damn cool though.
-- From Busted Online
Well done! But can we get it into the Top 40? We have pretty far to go...BUY BUY BUY!
I'm not sure where it is on the charts right now but I'll find out soon enough. |
