dividing and Unifying Forces

 

 As in other developing nations, many forces have threatened to break India apart. there is one problem and that is India's large population, which is more then doubled since independence . Although there government has tried to meet the needs of its 870 million people,poverty and illiteracy are still widespread, These conditions contribute to unrest.                           

  The cate system poses problems as India seeks to modernize. There government has sought to weakin its effects, especially in the area of economic opportunity.
