BURY BOWL FOOTBALL CLUB

BURY TILL WE DIE!!

Squad

Squad

This is the squad for Bury Bowl Football Club in our third season, as you can see there are some new faces as we continue our quest for more silverware in season 2008/2009.

Goalkeepers

Tom Barry (The Cat) - Number one keeper for the Bowl no one ever seems to be able to beat this guy he is a superb shot stopper and makes some outstanding saves! Literally a match-winner as he showed in last years cup finals.

Lewis Diaper - Barons number two to Tom Barry and now Bury Bowl number two as well always reliable, good keeper.

Glenn Douglas - (Gilda) Always handy to have keepers signed on as back-up, and this one is as crazy as they come! Yet to make a first team appearance.

Matt Licence - Another back-up keeper and if he had'nt been so dam good at boxing would probably have featured more for us.

Richard Rowan - The veteran keeper always willing to turn out when called upon.

Paul Webber - Utility man, last season made an apearance in goal and done well, always handy to have in the squad.

Defenders

James Cable (Jay, tubs, fatty cable) - The rock at the back! Last season returned well from injury to help Bowl win two cups in the season climax, can play anywhere at the back, and even is a superb goalkeeper where he played as a Bury Town under 18.He also has the hardest shot i have ever seen too!

Chris Foyle (Foyley) - If Cable is the rock then he is the boulder alongside him! Solid and always gives 100%, can play anywhere in the back four and loves pushing forward to help the attack! He is also the vice captain who leads by example.

Darren Gooday (Daz) - Bury Bowls number one left back, but such is his versatility can play centre half, left wing and centre mid too! Committed 100%, good header of the ball and superb tackler a real gem, even started scoring this season too!!

Shane Gooday - The brother of Daz and can play either full back position always ready to come into the team needs to be a bit more confident about tackling though!

Mike Monksfield (shanks) - Had an injury strewn season, but i think he will come on leaps and bounds this season, he is well built and over 6ft tall, a bit clumsy but very solid and 100% reliable

Andrew Moss (Mossy) - Ever reliable right back not the tallest man on the pitch but definitely the little terrier when it comes to tackling! You always know to get out of the way of a mossy sliding challenge!!

Andrew Parsons (Moose) - Still to make an official appearance but trademark freekick in a friendly showed everyone what he could bring to the team, although he now attends uni but could be helpful in the winter months.

Gary Rolfe (Rolfy, The Student) - Very reliable full back can play both left and right and showing his true potential now after playing virtually every game last season, getting stronger by the day and always gives 100% commitment.

Ronald Wright - (Ronaldo) A great addition last year and a superb start to his Bury Bowl career winning two cup finals, looks comfortable at centre half next to Cable or Foyle, never afraid to back down in a tackle.

Rob Stone - Signed on at the end of last season as cover in case of injurys, yet to make an appearance.

Midfielders

James Boughton (boughts) - What Neil is on the right Boughts is the same on the left he has plenty of pace and gets up and down so many times, always running like a duracell bunny never wears out! A good goalscorer too!!

Neil Broomfield - He is the true wizard of the wing, superb down the right, skilful Ronaldoesq feet, a good header of the ball and a good striker too! Unfortunately 'robbed' of his services till November 2009, but he will remain signed on and we will welcome him back with open arms.

Lee Cable (Full Sack) - One of the originals from Westbury days and played just about every position going! Always gives 150% and doesn't stop for anyone literally!! A reliable member of the squad and always ready and willing to play.

Ross Goodfellow - Still awaiting a first team appearance but his time will come.Very committed in training and quite speedy too.

Luke Hayden (Lukey) - A good talent although too many late nights up Brazilias leaves him under the weather on a sunday morning, always there when needed gives 100% wherever he plays.

Chris Hemingway - (Teed)  The charismatic, flamboyant superstar of the team (or so he will have us belive). Has made the partnership with Sadler in midfield a formality and chipped in with a few goals too, very skilful and a good passer.

Mark Klimowicz (Marky) - Left wing or left back, always helping the attack with his pinpoint crosses and a good free kick taker too! A superb tackler and a good shot on him.

Jamie Middleditch - Ross's little brother had a good start to his Bury Bowl career especially in the cup final against Ixworth. He is a real handful with his pace and trickery on either wing, will be even better this time round.

Ross Middleditch (Rossi, mullet) - The tackler of the team and also the loudest mouth (it is not always our ball ross!). Also good as a striker and chipped in with quite a few goals last season. Superb in the cup finals yet again!

Lee Radford - A winger similar to Jamie Middleditch now available for selection again after giving up his sunday job, needs to get training again to prove his fitness.

Rob Sadler - Has formed an unbreakable partnership with Hemingway and is a real all rounder he is someone who can tackle, pass and shoot as he showed in the cup final where he deservedly was man of the match.

Forwards

Steve Clarke (Clarky7 or The Gaffer) - Its all about me is his saying! Now forms the managerial partnership with Wayne and has had a superb first season in charge leading Bury Bowl to 3rd in the league, Promotion to division 3 and winning the division 4 ko cup and charity plate again! A linesmans nightmare though as he constantly keeps tabs with them to check they keep up with play!

Andrew Ford (Dorf) - New signing for this season, about 6ft tall, a very good head, and an awesome shot too! Will be crucial for Bury Bowl when called upon. Can also cover at centre half too!

Mark Gardiner (Ozzy) - The legend that is Ozzy again finished joint top scorer with 17! He really is the best in the business, and has forged a superb partnership with Nice and Rutterford, so many qualities and top scorer of all time for Bury Bowl.

Simon Gay (Judas) - Lightning quick striker remains signed on still but his appearances are very sparse as he lives in Watford and also is a father now too!

John Nice (Big Daddy)- The captain fantastic of Bury Bowl Already a legend with his passing holding up the ball and scoring goals! He is the ageless Teddy Sheringham of Bury Bowl! He has formed a almost telepathic partnership with Gardiner this season which has reaped rewards.

Ashley Macdonald (Ash) - New signing for this season and judging from his run out in the 5-a-side tournament at Norton he will provide some much needed pace and a different dimension to the Bowl attack.

Sam Redmore (Sammi) - The talisman of the team when he plays he scores!! He remains signed on even though he is the number one DJ in Manchester. One day he may return.

Craig Rutterford - (Rodney) Last seasons joint leading goalscorer with 17, a real gem of a player although a bit cocky sometimes! Can play either wing or up front, but better as a forward, also Bury Bowls penalty taker with a 100% record.
