The Sea Cadet Corps are a voluntary, uniformed youth organisation open to young people aged 10-18 years, regardless of sex, religion or race within the bounds of safety to themselves and others, to those with special needs.

WHEN you join the sea cadet corps you're in for the best enjoyment you could wish for. Experience the teamwork,activities,excitement and pride of being part of a great team. manyunits also run sections for juniors, aged 10-12 and some for marines aged 13-18.we at burnley unit have both juniors and a marine detachment working along side the sailors.
there are opportunities to sail , canoe , shoot , join in sports of all sort, and play in bands... you can even go to sea on Royal Navy ships- and the Corps own square-rigger T.S. Royalist.
so contact BURNLEY PENDLE ROSSENDALE sea cadet unit and come and see the activities for yourself.
Bring along a friend too....and join in some ....
SERIOUS FUN

If you join burnley sea cadets then you can advance up in the ranks. Here are what you have to earn to become a certain rank:

  • New Entry (6 weeks) to become a Cadet (CDT)
  • 8 points from Cadet to Ordinary cadet (OC or OD)
  • 15 points from Ordinary cadet to Able Cadet (AC or AB)
  • 30 points from Able Cadet to Leading Cadet (LC or LH)
  • a first class qualification from Leading Cadet to Petty Officer Cadet (POC)

To gain these points you can go on courses below is one place you can go to gain the points for advancement it is HMS Bristol you can also go many other places round the uk
