Hi, I'm Julie and I run a registered rabbitry (ARBA A226) of about 45 holes on our family sheep farm. I got a late start showing and breeding rabbits so I now raise 5 different breeds to make up for lost time lol. There's so many wonderful breeds it's hard to keep to just a couple. It's fun but challenging as each have their own unique differences and needs. This requires a great deal of time and attention and takes up a large portion of each day but, there's nothing I'd rather be doing!!
A 12 foot by 20 foot insulated barn houses the rabbits and spacious cages hold pedigreed breeding stock selected from some of the best breeders in Canada and the US. They are given ample opportunity for time outside the cage to exercise as well as regular treats and lots of hugs!! The rabbitry is equipped with a large picture window and screen doors which let in lots of light and fresh air. Flying insects are kept in check by an automatic spray system. During the warmer months, spacious outdoor play pens are set up to provide time for play on the grass in the sunshine.
I have met some wonderful people along the "bunny trail"who have generously shared their time and knowledge with me. I would like to say a big Thank You to all who have shared with me along the way.
