Prayer Is Life

Set in rural New Mexico, Bethany's Crossing follows intelligent, logical, teen aged Bethany Forrester and her Pueblo Native American friend, Sage, as they seek the identity of a mysterious fragment of bone found after a train accident. While Bethany approaches the artifact from a scientific position, her best friend Sage urges a more spiritual approach including a prayer ceremony and a spirit walk with her Pueblo grandfather who unbeknownst to the girls a strong Christian.

Bethany's conflict revolves around her development as a young Christian woman. She believes her father still sees her as a child, and God is a formal and distant entity who does not involve himself in daily events and dreams of young people. She believes she must protect her younger brother from their father's harsh point of view. By the end of the story however, Bethany learns the depth of the love her earthly father and her Heavenly Father have for her.

While the novel contains an action filled subplot of angelic forces placed to protect the town and demonic characters who struggle regain the artifact, Bethany is the driving force throughout her story. Flavored with local New Mexican culture and developed around solid characters this novel will provide the reader with both entertainment and a positive story in which Bethany grows in her relationship with her friends, her family and God.
