This
newly constructed Collegiate Synchronized Ice Skating Team, formed in 2007, has been a
dream come true for many Buffalonians. As a tribute to
this beautiful historical city, the team decided on calling themselves
the Buffalo Blades. The girls competing on the team come from an
array of Colleges and University's located right here in the Greater Buffalo
area.
In their inaugural year, The Blades put on exhibitions in Batavia and Ken-Ton, and even hosted a show of their own, An Evening with the Buffalo Blades, in March 2008. They then finished the year as the featured skaters at the Skating Club of Western New York's Rising Stars on Ice show. But they did not stop there...
The Buffalo Blades brought home the pewter medal after finishing 4th in their first ever competition at the 2008 Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships in Richmond, Virginia!!! The team also placed 2nd at the Skate Challenge in Cicero, NY.
The Blades are currently gearing up for the 2008/2009 season and looking to expand the team. If you are a college student in the Buffalo/Niagara region and would like to join the Blades, please contact Carrie Julie at carriejulie@hotmail.com.
