Slayers

 

Buffy Summers

Oh, come on! This is Sunnydale! How bad an evil can there be here?

Buffy is a slayer.  She is responsible for destroying the First and Sunnydale.  Before coming to Sunnydale, Buffy lived in L.A.  Shortly after she became the Slayer, her watcher was killed and she burnt down the school gym.  Then, her parents got a divorce and Buffy and her mom moved to Sunnydale.

 

Kendra

Kendra became the Slayer after Buffy drowned for a short time.  She was ordered to Sunnydale where she died at the hand of Drusilla. 

 

Faith Lehane

Come on. We’ll find a couple studs, we’ll use ’em and discard ’em. That’s always fun.
—Homecoming

After Kendra died, another Slayer was activated. This Slayer was Faith.  Faith is a one of the kind Slayer who can stand up to anything.  After feeling that she was always in Buffy’s shadow, Faith went crazy.  She tried to kill Buffy and Buffy tried to kill her back.  This resulted in a knife to the side and a coma.  After the coma, Faith went on a vengeance kick against Buffy, which resulted in going to jail.

 

Watchers

 

Rupert Giles

I appreciate your thoughts on the matter, in fact I… well, I encourage you to always challenge me when you feel it’s appropriate. You should never be cowed by authority. Except, of course, in this instance, when I am clearly right and you are clearly wrong.

Giles is Buffy’s watcher in Sunnydale.  He is British and constantly dressed in tweed.  However, there is more about him than meets the eye.  He used to be Ripper.  An occult worshipping, wild man addicted to rock ‘an roll.

 

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce

I have, in fact, faced two vampires myself. Under controlled circumstances, of course.

Wesley is Buffy’s second watcher.  He becomes Buffy’s watcher when Giles ignores his duty to the council and warns Buffy about a test that she must overcome at age 18.  Wesley is stuffier than Giles, if possible and he cannot fight.

 

Vampires

 

Angel

A hundred years, just hanging out…feeling guilty…I really honed my brooding skills.

Angel is a vampire with a soul.  His soul was returned after he killed a gypsy girl.  He worked on slaying with Buffy for a while before creating his own investigations office in L.A.

 

Spike

So who do you kill for fun around here?
—School Hard

Spike is a vampire with both a chip in his head and a soul.  The chip prevents him from feeding on any mortal.  The Initiative put it in his head.  His soul was returned to him by a wise man, who thought that he was curing Spike. 

 

Drusilla

We were in Paris. You had a branding iron, and there were worms in my baguette!

Drusilla is a slightly crazy vampire who hangs around with the Threatening Three.  (Angel, Darla and Spike.)

 

Darla

So many body parts, so few bullets. Let’s begin with the kneecaps. No fun dancing without them.
—Angel

Darla is a part of the Threatening Three.  She and Angel hung out for a while in Prague and she was the Master’s right hand vamp.  After being staked, she was brought back to life by lawyers at Wolfram and Hart.  They brought her back as a human, and no one seems to know why.

 

Harmony Kendall

Being a vampire sucks!

Harmony was the First mate of the Cordettes before she was bitten.  After becoming a vampire, Harmony stayed in Sunnydale with Spike before turning her sight onto L.A.  She continues making chaos there.

 

The Master

I am weary, and their deaths will bring me little joy. Of course sometimes a little is enough.
—Angel

The Master was one of the oldest and most powerful vamps around.  That is, until he met Buffy Summers.  She made easy work of him, after he did the same to her.  The Master was the vampire who drowned Buffy.  Unfortunately, for him, Xander’s CPR rescued Buffy.

 

Slayerettes

 

Willow Rosenberg

I’m probably the only girl in school who has the coroner’s office bookmarked as a favorite place.

Willow is the first friend that Buffy made when she came to Sunnydale.  Willow is also a witch with many powers.  Sometimes, though, the powers tend to take control of her.  Willow also happens to be gay. 

 

Xander Harris

I laugh in the face of danger…Then I hide until it goes away.
—The Witch

Xander is Buffy’s other best friend.  Xander is the class clown and has bad luck with women. 

 

Daniel Osbourne (Oz)

Okay, I pretty much missed out on some stuff, didn’t I? Because this is all making a kind of sense that’s…not.
—Becoming

Oz is a werewolf.  Three days a month, Oz changes into a werewolf and retreats into his cage to wait the night out.  After half a year of college and a fellow werewolf, Oz leaves for Tibet to find the cure to being a wolf.

 

Anya Jenkins

I’m eleven hundred and twenty years old. Just give me a frigging beer!

Anya is a vengeance demon.  She makes scorned women happy by granting them a wish that does something to their former lover.  However, after trying a spell on Cordelia, her spell backfires and what she had for powers disappear. 

 

Tara Maclay

I go online sometimes, but everyone’s spelling is really bad. It’s depressing.

Willow and Tara meet at UC Sunnydale’s Wicca group.  They are the only people in the group that are actually interested in learning magic.  Under Tara’s helping hand, Willow becomes a magical novice.  They fall in love, but then Tara is killed by Warren Mears, a member of the Nerd Trio.  Tara’s death causes Willow to lose control over her magic and attempt to destroy the world.

 

Those Associated With Angel Investigations

 

Cordelia Chase

Tact is just not saying true stuff…I’ll pass.

Cordelia Chase was once Captain of the Cordettes and the most popular girl in Sunnydale.  That ended when she began to date Xander, though.  Her reputation was stunted and to make matters worse, her father lost almost all his money on a mistake he had been making in his taxes for over ten years.  So after graduation, Cordelia moved to L.A. and began to work for Angel Investigations.

 

Winifred Burkle (Fred)

Fred was a college professor who visited the demon world of Pylea.  There, she was held prisoner for many years until Angel Investigations rescued her.  She was then brought back to Earth.  Later on, while she was working for Angel Investigations, she was infected by a demon named Illyria.  Illyria took over her body and she didn’t return.

 

Charles Gunn

Gunn is another worker of Angel Investigations.  He was brought up on the streets of L.A.  He began to fight vampires after his sister, Jade, was turned into one.  From there, he began his own gang of demon hunters.  After they betrayed him, Gunn began to work with Angel Investigations.

Connor

Connor is Angel and Darla’s son.  It’s supposed to be impossible for vampires to have children, but somehow they managed it.  Though Connor has a vampire’s speed and strength, he can still go into the sun.
