Barnaby was never going to be a show prospect due to a medical condition, much to Ruth's disappointment so we were lucky enough to get him and later another beagle from them, Aljerer Fantasia - home name Molly. Barnaby was one of the first beagles to do obedience at any level here in Victoria and had quite a fan club when we trialled - people couldn't believe that a beagle COULD do obedience (fortunately things have changed a little and it is now quite common seeing beagles out there strutting their stuff in the obedience ring)
My first showbeagle Nova, Aust Ch Semeru Superstitions, flew down to me from Jane Millar at Semeru Beagles in NSW. Jane had been amused when I asked for a 'tan and white' show puppy as they were, at the time, somewhat more difficult to show under All Breeds Judges. After waiting a long time to get into the confirmation ring my first showbeagle was born on my birthday; a Friday 13th hence her 'Superstitions' name. We have since shared a number of cakes and enjoy marking our joint birthday each year.

Nova won nine Baby Puppy in Groups as a weeny girl and she continued to do well in the ring; titling eight weeks after her first litter (one puppy IS a litter isn't it??) was born (Aust Ch Brynler Only The Lonely* ) she had one more show winning Australian Bred In Show at the Beagle Club of Victoria's Champ. Show in 2003 when she was then retired from the ring some months before giving me another litter this time with a special t/w clone kid, Tuesday. (Aust Ch BISS Brynler Ruby Tuesday*)
Aust Champion Brynler Only The Lonely (Tyson) is owned by my good friend Meagan James who refers to him as her heart dog; I couldn't ask for a better person to care for this very special little "Only' as she not only (no pun intended!) loves him to death but also prepares and shows him beautifully.

Nova's second litter gave me our Tuesday beagle; a very special girl who did so well in the ring titling in just six months and exceeding all expectations she went on to win BISS at the Beagle Club of Victoria 2005 under UK Beagle Specialist Mrs B Roderick.
Tuesday herself had her first litter in October 2006 mated to Queensland boy, Aust Ch Kislev Gambling Man and I am very proud of their 'kid' Banjo (Brynler Mister Bojangles) who is in Queensland with another good friend Rhonda Telfer (Orobay Beagles) and is almost a Champion himself; 'Banjo' thrilled us all by winning RUBIS at the Qld Beagle Club show at the age of just nine months!

As in any family sometimes a 'mistake' may happen and ours was late last year when our beautiful lemon boy Charlie (Aust Ch Hilldamar Lotsa Class)

Nova took her Grandmotherly duties very seriously with these babies and could often be found whispering important things in their little ears

Five of Tuesday's kids have lovely pet homes where they are adored by their new families while one little girl is now owned by Jill Farley, Delgaeb Beagles, who is enjoying exibiting a 'proper' colored beagle for the first time in a number of years. Brynler True Colors, Delta, is very like her mummy Tuesday with the same attitude and ring presence even at a very young age so we will be watching her with interest.

23.9.08 - Delta was recently awarded her frst Challenge points - not bad for an eight month old puppy but she is a girl who wanted to make a statement ; by not only going Best of Breed but also Puppy In Group
AND!
Best Exhibit in Group Four
(Jill and I were pretty excited!)
Over the years I have had many wonderful experiences with beagles and beaglers from around the world and formed fabulous friendships with very special people who will continue to be a large part of my life in the future.
I have travelled across a number of states in Australia to exhibit at Royals and Speciality Shows; all of which were enriched by the company of other breeders and beagle fans.
One major highlight was attending the Beagle National in Valparaiso, Indiana, America in June 2006 where I met up with people I have corresponded with for a number of years; people who have become friends and, in a number of cases, more like family. It was such a thrill to be asked to judge the Sweepstakes Classes at this National along with Meagan James who travelled with me for part of this trip. My time in the US took me coast to coast where I was welcomed into the homes of people I only knew from beagle mailing lists - it proves that beagle people are truly generous, friendly and welcoming people - they are the best!
My interest and passion for my chosen breed remains, my pack is now constant at three lovely hounds (all 'proper' color of course!) but there will be no further Brynler beagles.
'hope you enjoy meeting some of the canines who have formed a large part of my life (and places in my heart)
