School is changing, and it’s changing for all the right reasons. It’s called 21st century teaching and learning -- Global21: Students deserve it. The world demands it. In today’s global economy, students need to understand and appreciate cultural differences so that they can become responsible and productive world citizens. For details about Global21 click on the announcement below or to learn more about 21st century learning log on to http://global21.k12.wv.us
Boone County Schools initiated School Messenger in 2009 to inform parents, students, and teachers of upcoming events, absences, school delays, cancellations, and/or early dismissals. School Messenger calls each number that is on file with the school office. School Messenger leaves a message when available, and records No Answer as needed so that a complete record is available as to whom has been notified. If you change your telephone number, please contact the school to inform them of the change at 304-369-1012 so that your number can be updated.
Please note that School Messenger will only store one phone number per student in its database so please be sure we have the current and correct number for your child. Also, please be certain that the name and phone number of the person who will pick your child up, or who will be responsible for your child in the event of an emergency dismissal is up to date.
WV Dept of Education current announcements for delays or cancellations.

In order for your student to succeed, daily attendance is imperative. We encourage all students and parents to strive for perfect attendance. Each day that all students are present when attendance is taken, those homerooms get to put add a letter to spell perfect attendance. Each time a homeroom spells Perfect Attendantce, they receive an incentive reward.
Students are admitted to the building at 8:20 and are considered tardy at or after 8:55. After 8:55, parents MUST accompany their child(ren) to the office and sign him/her in. An Admit slip will be given to the child to give to his/her teacher. Please help us with this procedure by escorting your child to the office if they are tardy.
We realize that it is inevitable that children maintain regularly scheduled doctor's appointments. Please try to schedule appointments for late afternoon (3:00 pm or after). We appreciate your assistance and cooperation with this as well.
We will not allow any student to threaten, bully, intimidate, or injure any other student. If this happens, a discipline report will be filled out and sent to the office with the student(s). The parent will be called and asked to come to school. Please refer to our discipline policy proceedure in your child's planner for more information.
