Aussie Bromeliads

Well what an Extravaganza it was !!!

A plethora of stunning Vriesea, Neoregelia, Tillandsia, Billbergia, Neophytum and much more.

The moment we walked in the door, our eyes almost fell out of our heads.

People madly dashing up the aisles loading up their bare arms with spiky fare, fearless of scratches and gouging thorns. An amazing sight to behold I'm sure, as I was one of them too.

All with single minded determination to increase our collections.

Tables were bared within moments, stewards rushing to refill so that we could all continue with our frenzy.

Once boxes, styros and crates were full to the brim, only then did we stop for a lovely Devonshire tea and exhale.

It was then that we took time to meet some of the wonderful people behind the scenes, 'The Bromeliad Growers of Australia' and a finer, more hospitable bunch you'd be hard pressed to find.

We must give special thanks to Robert Gunderson for many introductions and an awesome willingness to share his knowledge and friendship with us Bromaholics from all over the countryside.

To put faces to names we come accross daily, and move amongst (unknowingly) in our avenues of buying and selling these fantastic creatures called Bromeliads, is a memory we will hold very dear to us for years to come.
