I’m a petrologist whose primary research interests lie in the field of igneous petrology and volcanology. I am currently a lecturer in igneous and metamorphic petrology at Keele University, U.K. My recent research activity has centred on the petrology of plutonic igneous rocks, specifically the bearing that quantitative textural data (e.g. Crystal Size Distributions and Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility) and geochemistry have on high-level magma system evolution and emplacement. I'm also interested in the way in which Cr-spinel seams form and concentrate the Platinum Group Elements (PGEs) in layered mafic intrusions.
