Bredbury Stockport Boxing Club is situated in Compstall opposite Etherow Country Park Beneath the old Library.
This club has been established for inexcess of 30 years and has seen many hard times, eventful times, but ultimately creating a feeling of comradeship that continues to flourish. The reason for the success of such a club lies with the dedication of the instructors, all of whom are seasoned boxers, qualified trainers, with over 100 years experience between them. The main inspiration and driving force coming from Roy Richardson. We also need to give acknowledgement to people who support the club from behind the scenes who provide vital support completing many essential tasks, they have done so for many years and continue to do so freely.
Our boxing club prides itself on it's history, committment, support functions and being one of the few clubs who loan gloves to the boxers. Whilst we are able to offer extensive training regimes, guaranteed to get you fit and not for the faint hearted, it is important to note that this is completed by highly trained and dedicated trainers on a voluntary basis. They give for the benefit of the up and coming boxers and will one day, produce a world champion.
We have an established membership with our youngest members being approximately 10 years entering into competition at the age of 11 years, but only if they are ready with parental consent, skill and fitness levels achieved with completion of legal requirements and strict safety measures.
Training is conducted three times a week on Monday , Wednesday , Friday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm visitors are welcome. New members are invited to attend the gym without charge, on completing membership Junior members pay £1 per session with Seniors paying £2 per session. These subs a placed towards the running cost of the club.
