Brazil for Jesus

Greetings from Brazil...

It's hard to believe that we are already in the sixth month of the year.  A lot of changes are taking place, and it seems like all at the same time.  We continue to see God's keeping power in them all.  We had to give up the apartment we were living in because the owner needed it.  We had one month to find a place, and by the grace of God we were able to get a house just a few days before the deadline was up.  It was God's doing because the house is more that what we expected for a rent half of what it's worth. With that we also got the offer of a hall in another city to start another work. We have already acquired 30 chairs and in just a few days, as soon as we are finish with the painting, we will be launching this new project with great excitement and expectations. God is still able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

We are planning to continue with the English Services in the Assembly of God church until we can find a replacement to head up that work.  We have been doing training for the past year and have identified certain individuals who are capable.  However, none are yet available due to job and other commitments.  We are praying that God's will be done and that everything will be done in His perfect timing.

Finance has always be a great hindrance in our efforts here in Brazil; the past two years we have seen the constant devaluing of the US dollar taking it to a all time low of 1.90 reais (Brazilian dollar), with a prediction of even getting lower.  However, in spite of the challenges in the past, God has kept us and is even giving us breakthroughs in several areas. 

Because of your faithful support we were able to pay all our bills, sometimes cutting it close but never past the deadline. Ministry continues to show progress in spite of the detour of our initial plans.  We have seen many new converts come to know the Lord as Savior and many re commitments being made to the Lord, both in the English Services and Portuguese Services where Martin frequently preaches.

The puppet team is now 100% run by Brazilians with an expansion to numerous for us to keep up with; there are now several teams spread throughout south America with reports of literally thousands of children hearing the Gospel message and many of them confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives.
