The Branstones

From Blues to Rock and back again

who are?

"The Branstones"

The Branstones are a Local  Rock & Blues covers band, based in Burton Upon Trent & available for gigs in & around the local area & maybe beyond on occasion

The Branstones have been around under different names for a while, but its only since mid 2005 that they have been gigging under the name of the Branstones, after Myself (Paul) the new Bassist joined the ranks. Its a name that came about due to us  rehearsing in Branston & the fact we do a lot of songs from the Stones back catalogue.

The set list goes from strength to strength, with our band identity now solidifying & expanding upon the Blues Brothers them, until we now really do go from Blues to Rock & back again, melding in Chicago Blues, with Texas Blues, and adding a deal of chuggin' British Blues & Heavy Rock, to give what is now "The Branstones"

Have a look at & maybe add something to our  Guest book

Paul

I Joined the band April 2005, on bass guitar & have had to learn a very varied & constantly changing set list in quite a short space of time.

Over the last few years, I Have once more taken up playing Bass Guitar, after many years of Rhythm guitar. I've found himself jumping between both roles, in one or two bands, over the last few years as well as my own projects, depending upon the needs of the band I've been in.

My tastes in music are varied & eclectic, as likely to enjoy a Traditional Folk ballad, as much as full on adrenalin loaded Heavy Metal.

Main vices are collecting anything music related, whether guitars, basses, amps, mandolins, you name it. Expensive pure malt Whiskey, Theakstons Olde Peculiar, chocolate & Golf. As when not playing with the band, is likely to be frequenting one of the many local golf courses around the area. Or out walking up a hill somewhere.
