Bradford District Care Patient and Public Involvement in Health Forum were appointed in January 2003  in what was part of th Government Strategy that declared it wanted to put patient at the centre of the NHS.

The forum monitor the work of Bradford District Care Trust (BDCT) in relation to Mental Health and Learning Disabilities services to ensure that patients, service users,carers and the public were involved and consulted about the planning of services, their delivery, the development of proposals to change decision affecting the operation of services.



The forum did not deal with individual complaints, it had to be more than one person complaining about the same issue, which related to Bradford District Care Trust services.

In 2003 Patient and Public Involvement in Health Forum (PPI) were appointed to every National Health Service (NHS)  Trust in want was part of a Government Strategy to put patients at the centre of the NHS.

The forum was supported locally by Bradford Alliance on Community Care (BACC) and  then from 1st January 2006 by the In - House Commission for Patent & Public Involvement in Health (CPPIH) Team.

The Bradford District Care Patient and Public Involvement in Health Forum & CPPIH the non-governmental public body (NGPB) was abolished on the 31st March 2008 when Patients' Forums were replaced by Local Involvement Networks (LINks).
