Christopher “BOYCEE” Hernandez,
Born on 1st of May 1975 in Brgy. San Roque, Angono, Rizal
Son of Mr.& Mrs. Cesar T .Hernandez, began drawing as a pastime in his grade school years. He drew, during his free time in school, usually the things he saw in his surroundings: plants and trees -- nature.
However, it seems that he only drew for enjoyment and didn't share his ability. People who knew him didn't know he had a knack for drawing and that he was artistically inclined like his father and his elder brother.
When he was in high school, you'd see his notebooks filled with sketches of people's faces.
Many times he even drew his teacher while the latter conducted a lecture.
boycee only observed his father during his painting sprees in order to know how to use good color combination on a painting. He also got some ideas from his brother to improve his knowledge on the art.
When he reached college, he didn't take up Fine Arts. He reasoned out that he didn't need to sign up in that course to further his talent, since there was already a painter in their family. Instead, he took up Engineering, but was unsuccessful in the field. He then enrolled himself in a Computer course.
He also became an active member of the Sangguniang Kabataan in their baranggay during this time, and his work was so demanding that he didn't have time to practice his painting.
When he graduated from his computer course, he worked under his brother as an assistant in the latter's printing and framing business.
boycee married at age 25. He worked under several companies and businesses as a contractual employee. However, he soon discovered that the money he earned from being a contractual employee isn't enough for him and his family to get by, so he decided to just help in his wife's business.
He also started painting again, and eventually entered the framing business as well, for he realized that being a painter is a profession that is never-ending.
