Home_on_the_Range raw milk dairy is operated by Alice Jongerden as agistment service for those who hold shares in the herd
All our cows are grass~fed as much as possible, and supplemented with a small amount of organic grain while milking, as well as the best hay. They have access to pasture year 'round. We believe in the humane treatment of animals, thus, we do not administer hormones nor antibiotics to our cows We use small portable milking machines. After being filtered the milk is immediately placed in 2 quart glass jars, cooled and stored in the cooler. Then it is delivered to depots where it can be picked up by shareholders at their convenience. Cooling it immediately after milking, then maintaining the 'cold chain' are important to ensure shareholders get the best milk SHARES in the herd to obtain RAW MILK Full Shares: Share fee $80 Weekly $16 + .80 GST = $16.80 one-half share : Share fee $50 Weekly $8.50 + .43 GST = $8.93 the fee for the share is fully refunded if and when the shareholder leaves the herdshare, with no interest paid on the amount
we welcome new share holders As shareholders, you are entitled to your share of raw colostrum. The processing fee is significantly higher, as the cow has been storing all vital nutrition for a 2 month period.
