Here I will post clear, step by step tutorials for various hacks.
If you find any errors or have any suggestions to improve this page, please let me know.
1. Open up iPodWizard. You should have the latest version (1.3.0.7). If you do not, download it from www.getipodwizard.com
2. Plug in your iPod and allow iPW to detect it.
3. Now you have several options.
a. If you have a premade firmware file and would like to write that to your iPod, choose "Firmware File" from the drop down menu and select your file.
b. If you have an .ipsw (iPod software) file from Apple and would like to mod that, choose "iPodSoftware File" from the drop down menu. This is generally used only if you want to restore your original firmware without losing data.
c. If you would like to mod directly from your iPod's firmware, meaning that you don't have a firmware on your computer, choose "iPod" from the drop down menu and click "Load iPod firmware.
d. Finally, if you want to use an old updater to mod your iPod (rare, since iTunes now manages updating fimware), choose "Updater" and find the Updater program.
4. Now you have loaded firmware and may start your hacking.
1. Load your iPod firmware as described here.
2. Under the "Pictures" tab, go to the side bar and click "Load All".
3. Navigate to the folder with all theme images, and click OK.
4. iPW will load all those into your firmware.
5. Click "Write to iPod".
6. When writing is finished, choose "Eject". DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR IPOD OR YOU COULD BRICK IT. When the iPod completes rebooting, your computer will redetect the iPod. Now eject your iPod again. This time you can unplug your iPod.
If you have problems, see this paragraph.
Resources provide the greatest flexibility in modding your iPod. They determine how you iPod works, from the positioning of images to options that appear on menus and what certain actions do. There are four different types of resources, but all are loaded the same way.
To load a resource:
1. Go into the Layouts/Resources tab.
2. Determine the type of resource you're loading.
a. If the resource begins with "view", make sure you're in scheme layouts.
b. If the resource begins with "font", go to "Font types"
c. If the resource begins with "menu", go to "Menus"
d. If the resource begins with "command", go to "Command Table"
3. Once you are in the proper resource view, type in the number of the resource you want to load in the search box, then click "Search".
4. If the resource exists, iPW will take you to that resource.
5. Click "Load resource".
6. Navigate to the resource, and click OK.
7. If the resource you are loading matches the resource you are currently viewing, then iPW will successfully load it. Otherwise, it will give you an error message.
To load a folder of resources:
3. Once you are in the proper resource view, click "Load All".
4. Navigate to your folder and click OK.
5. iPW will automatically load all the resources in that folder, and tell you how many were successfully loaded. Note that if you have several different kinds of resources in the same folder, you will have to repeat the process, since iPW only loads resources of the type you are currently viewing.

iPodWizard thread: here
Here are some solutions to common problems. See the iPodWizard forums for more details.
Q: iPW won't detect my iPod!
A: Restart iPW. Reboot your iPod if necessary, and if all else fails, restart your computer.
Q: When loading images, iPW crashes!
A: If your theme has pictures with three digits (i.e. pic000.bmp), you need to go to the Preferences tab and check the box that says "Use old index system saving method". If your theme has pictures with five digits, you need to uncheck that box.
Q: After writing to my iPod, the graphics appear in the wrong place!
A: That is because you downloaded a theme that was not made for your firmware. If you have a 5G, you need to download a 5G theme. In addition, there are many different firmwares, and they all have different image orders to go with them. Make sure you download the correct version of the theme.
Q: My iPod continually reboots!
A: When your iPod reboots and the Apple logo has not turned bright yet, hold the Center and Play/Pause buttons. This will take your iPod into Disk Mode. Plug your iPod into your computer and rewrite a clean firmware. If need be, restore your iPod.
