Once again, it's been some time since I last updated. At last though, I am able to present something new. iTunes Travel Edition!

Based on SteviPod's original idea.

It's been a long time since I last updated this site. I've been too busy to get to do many hacks. However, It's Time has been released at iPW, and today, I am releasing the Triple Background Hack. This hack gives the user three backgrounds to use, one on main menu, submenus, and now playing screens.

This hack is pretty self explanatory, so I don't think I need to provide screenshots. The download is available on the Downloads page.

Major credit goes to beans307 and his team of developers, who helped resize the images to create three background images. The firmware is based off of matthew98's UBH, so he gets credit too.

The iPod Touch hack, version 2, is here!

What's new, then?

Well, some new improvements are:

• All menus now have a black background.
• Background for the large album art in Now Playing is now black.
• Black background, new font and new images on Do Not Disconnect screen and charging screen.
• Also all menu text is white.
• All menus and sub-menus have menu icons at the bottom.
• New style stopwatch and screen lock.
• Title and Clock now appear simultaneously in title bar.

I have a request for you all.

Does anyone have InvaderZim's original background hack 1.3.2?

If you do, PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA iPW OR THE CONTACT PAGE ON THIS SITE. I need this firmware because I can shrink the download size of the iPod touch hack by about 4 times.

EDITED: I have the 5G version I was looking for. I now need the 13MB version of the 5.5G. The other one I was sent was 45MB. Thanks to 1337_podder for the 5G!

At last....at long last...it is here.

Thanks to the hard work of xxDriveNxx and matthew98, the Ultimate Background Hack and the iPod classic hack have been successfully ported to the new 1.2.2 firmware recently released by Apple. To date, the games hack has not been ported because Apple appears to have changed the mechanism by which the games are authenticated. Work is being done and I am sure that it will be cracked one day. In the meantime, if you still want to be able to play games, stick with the 1.2.1 firmware.  Download these from the Downloads page.

The iTouch project is coming along nicely. We've almost finished both the now playing screen and main menu, which are the main components of this hack. Still some bugs to iron out, but we will release it when we are done. No release dates, of course, but I do anticipate this to be out before the Christmas holidays.

It's been awhile since I've last updated. It might appear that I haven't been too active lately, but I have been hard at work on the newest project: iPod touch to iPod video. I, along with several other developers, have made lots of progress, and we anticipate a release in the near future. No release dates will be set, as we will release this when we are ready.

Furthermore, I have not forgotten about the iPod classic project. I am aware of the many bugs that still need to be fixed. When the iTouch hack is released, I will continue with the classic hack. 

On another note, thanks to all who have downloaded the classic hacks. To date, I have 837 downloads for the 5.5g, 708 for the 5g, and  over 2000 downloads in total, making a total of 12GB of bandwidth served. That's a lot =)

November 5, 2007

Update 2.1 for the iPod classic hack has been released! This update is primarily bug fixes.

Changelog 2.1:
- Lock icon and busy icon do not overlap.
- Text of Now Playing screen without album art does not overlap.
- Lyrics and stopwatch logs are full screen.
- Search function for 5.5Gs should be fixed. I cannot test this because I do not have a 5.5G, but if there are still any errors, please let me know.
- 5 pixel scroll bars are now included as an option. A few menus still use 11 pixel scroll bars, but that is for aesthestic purposes only.
- Charging batteries should be in line now.

We have to say goodbye to one of our great contributors. xxDriveNxx has bricked his iPod while trying to enable search for the 5G, and unfortunately cannot get an iPod to continue his work. We're all grateful for all the hard work he has put into iPodWizard, and I hope that one day he can return.

Because xxDriveNxx has left the project, I will take over and, for the meantime, be the main contributor. I have created a thread in the iPW forums that lists the bug fixes I have done and the ones that are left, as well as the resources to load the bug fixes. Feel free to contribute to this. I will always need help and if you are an experience hacker, please lend a hand! 

Also, jonsingh12 has updated his Horizontal patch for iPod classic to 1.025. I have uploaded this and it can be downloaded from the Downloads page.

October 30th, 2007

Update 2.0.5 for the iPod classic has been released. This release fixes several bugs, including menu alignment problems (such as the About screen) and other small error. This update is for 5Gs ONLY. 

The Multibackground hack has finally been updated to 2.0! Thanks to xxDriveNxx for his hard work. See here for further details.

Pick up the download from the Downloads page. Currently, only the 5G update has been released. xxDriveNxx is working on a 5.5G release and anticipates a release in the near future. 

jonsingh12, a member of the iPodWizarding forum, released a patch for the new iPod classic hack that splits the menus horizontally. See here for details.

I have uploaded the 5.5G versions of the iPod classic hack today. Several of you asked for thisdownload. Head over to the Downloads page.

At last, after a long wait, update 2 for the Multibackground Hack has been released! Props to xxDriveNxx for his hard work. This hack gives you two backgrounds: one for all menus and one for the Now Playing screen. pic138 is for Now Playing, and pic282 is for all other menus. This is based off of InvaderZim's original 1.3.2 background hack.

Bug fixes:

    - All strings are now 4 bit!
    - White spots in legal menu removed.
    - Now Playing fixed (x of xx string shows.)
    - Charging battery no longer repeats itself.
