Submission Guidelines

We welcome all submissions to 'Bottom Of The World', though we primarily deal in prose.  If you would like to submit pieces for publication in an upcoming issue, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Please proof-read your submissions!  And then proof-read them again!
  2. We accept only email submissions;
  3. No more than 2 short stories (3000 word max) or 3 poems;
  4. Pieces should be in English, though short sections of other languages may be included as appropriate to the story.
  5. Pieces must be saved in an appropriate format (i.e. .doc or .odt);
  6. Please include your full name in the submission header.
  7. Pieces submitted should preferably not have been published elsewhere, either in paper or electronic form.

Please consider purchasing an issue before submitting, to get a feel for the range of work we print.  Note, we will probably (though not certainly) not accept the following:

  1. Tawdry romance;
  2. Generic science-fiction or fantasy;
  3. Fan-fiction of any kind;
  4. Teenage fiction (e.g. teenage romance, or depressive monologues).

Please send your submissions as an attachment to fm.vorassi@gmail.com, with the subject 'submission'.  In the email, please include a third-person biography of no more than 30 words.

You'll hear back from us via email one way or the other, but please be patient - it may take a couple of weeks before we can get back to you.

All successful submissions will receive one free copy of the magazine.
