Joy was our first Boston Terrier. My husband and I decided to get a Boston because we wanted a small dog, with short hair (easy to groom) and lots of personality. After making the decision to get a Boston Terrier, I decided that I did not want the standard black and white Boston, I wanted one that was different. So I began looking for a brindle and white female puppy. It took me 4 or 5 months, but I finally found her. Joy was born on December 18, 2000 and came from a breeder in Portland, Oregon. Her AKC registered name is "Our Little Brindle Of Joy". She came to join our family at 12 weeks of age. Here, you can see a picture of her when we first brought her home.

This is my favorite picture of Joy as a puppy. This picture really shows off her little "splashed face". Originally, I wanted a Boston with the traditional facial mask, not one with a lot of white. But when I saw her, I just fell in love with her cute little "mismarked" face. As a puppy, she loved to find sticks out in the back yard and chew them up. |

Here is a picture of Joy at 2 years old. At this point, she is still our only Boston Terrier. When we first got Joy, we had planned to breed her. But we eventually decided to have her spayed. We then decided that we were enjoying our first Boston Terrier so much that we wanted to add another one to our family. (You can see more pictures of Joy on Joy's Page.) |
