So while I wait for inspiration with the niggles, let's make a plinth.

With Lencos I like to make what I call an inner layer that fits closely to the inside surface of the deckplate.

Couple this to the pan layer, which fits against the main bearing as close as possible.

Now we need an arm .......

A listening session prior to more plinth layers .......

High quality playback, but the speed is almost impossible to set correctly, I really don't like the rotary control. There does seem to be a lot of slack in the whole mechanism so some spares are called for ...........

What parts and where from?
So let's investigate how we might change the speed control back to the Lenco classic slider. Check out the pics below to understand why it's not so straightforward.
The 99 is a contemporary of the 59/70s and has similar parts. The linkage for a 99 needs to fit the fixed position pivot post, shown here under and left of the main bearing. About 13cm.

The 59 lever is just right .....

But the 75 lever is too long ...........14cm

And just in case, checking the B55 (GL72) shows this lever is too short ..........11cm

On the pics above it's also clear that the idler moving slide has changed from the small type in the 99 and 59 to the later larger type used in the 75 and B55
