Misty Moo

Misty is just learning to play with toys. Note the fox poo on her shoulder and neck that she just had to have a good role in!
Let me introduce you to Misty or Misty Moo as she is affectionately called. Moo is in foster care with us until a home as good as ours can be found, there is no hurry for her to go, in fact I have a feeling she may well be staying because Cathy says Misty has really bonded with her, I think I might miss her if and when she goes.
Cathy does a bit of rescue and she saw Misty advertised "Free" on the internet. Cathy not liking adverts like that called Misty's people to find out more about why and to try and advise and help.
There story was they had to move and couldn't take her with them, she had had a litter of cross staffie pups a couple of months earlier and they had all gone, now Misty had to go also.
Cathy told the lady she would try to find a good home for her rather then just hand her over to the first person that turned up, she arranged to go to the house to see Misty and take some pictures to put on the rescue site, when she got to the house and saw Misty she got onto the phone to John and told him she was bringing her home with her.
On the way home they stopped off at the vets to give Misty a check-up, she was very thin and under nourished after having 10 puppies, Cathy could put her hands fully around her waist, she had itchy skin and inflamed ears, her fur was very patchy and thin and she was very nervous.
Misty was treated for the itchiness, given some "Frontline" Flea treatment and wormed, her nails were very long and curling so they were cut to a comfortable size.
Misty was just left tied up in her peoples back garden a lot and she was in the habit of escaping so we had to be a little careful she didn't escape from our home, we needn't have worried though as she settled in straight away and she seemed so grateful to be with us.
Cathy had some pictures of Misty that were taken when they got home but unfortunately her computer crashed and she hasn't been able to recover them, but if you could see the before and after pictures you can really see how Misty as come along, in a matter of a couple of months she is like a different dog, her fur has grown back lovely and she has put on weight, though I am not surprised about that, she eats for England and then looks for more!
Now she has reached a healthy weight she will be getting spayed in a couple of weeks time.
I will keep you updated on Misty Moo, I am sure she will be with us a little while longer.
Well, Misty has been with us for one year now, so yes, it does look like she is staying with us, Cathy found it hard to part with her because Misty became very attached, she has become Cathy's "Velcro dog" She is so much happier and really settled in, she has put on weight, maybe a little too much weight
but she is now happy and confidant.
