Hello and welcome to Books 4 Philadelphia. I hope you can easily find your way around the place and make yourself comfortable. The class subject for the rest of the year is 'Restoring Libraries'. I know it's not a real subject, but it's an inside issue that has affected elementary school libraries in Philadelphia for some time now and has gone unnoticed. The schools have the space, but the problem is that they don't have the updated and needed books to fill in those spaces. Many school libraries are filled with books that date back to the 1940's and it's not hard or comes as a surprise when you come upon a book that is torn or written in. It has become even harder to obtain nice books for the schools when budgets have been cut and the book bank that housed thousand if not million of books has been closed down. To solve this problem, I have decided to start this project that targets this issue head on. The mission is to restore as many school libraries as possible with new or gently used books. With the help of the community and surrounding areas, we can make this dream come true and help underprivilege and privilege children succeed.
