The cover above may look like a single stock photo.  It's actually 5 different photos manipulated and composed in Photoshop to create a scene as depicted by the author in the first part of the book.

The cover above may look like a single stock photo. It's actually 6 different photos manipulated and composed in Photoshop to create a scene as described to me by the author.

In the cover above, I created the character illustrations from the author's descriptions. The background is composed from 3 different photos.

In the cover shown above, the ship was originally a photo of an entire ship in dry dock with many tourists milling about. Using photoshop, the people were eliminated, the bow was extended (to match the author's description of the vessel in the story. The ocean water was added to the scene as were the billowing sale, the moon and the fog.

I created the characters in the above cover based on the descriptions provided by the author.

I created the dragon symbol in the cover seen below. It was used in several of the book covers for the best-selling series, The Dragoneers.

BOOK COVERS:

Yes, people do judge a book by it's cover!

Your book's cover is likely to be a potential buyer's first impression of your book. That first impression should be as good as possible because you know what they say: FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT!

I create book covers that grab the viewer's attention. But more than that, they reflect some aspect of the story told in your book rather than just being some generic pretty picture grabbed from a collection of stock photos.
