Thanks very much for the quick response! The MacLeod inscription fills in gaps for me, so I am most grateful. Of the sons mentioned on the gravestone: Roderick drowned in St Vincent, West Indies in 1830 [Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine XXVII] Robert Bruce Aeneas drowned in St Vincent 25 November 1831 [Aberdeen Journal Feb. 8 1832] and their brother, my ancestor, Alexander died in St Vincent at his estate in 1861.

Of his wife Barbara Ferguson who died 23rd April 1840 and of their sons Roderick, Robert, Bruce, Aeneas and Alexander who died at St Vincent, West Indies. Also of their eldest daughter Janet MacLeod who died at Tain 13th Nov 1845.
Please may I have a copy of inscription for SDM 51 - Alexander McLeod d.1818 and his wife Barbara Ferguson died 1840. They were my direct ancestors. Many thanks! Joan.

90. In memory of the Rev Lewis Rose. For 32 years the Minister of this Parish. He died in the 85th year of his age and 63rd of his Ministry on 6th Nov 1876. Also Katharine Simpson for more than 50 years his devoted wife died 29th Jan 1877. "For ever with the Lord"
I would be grateful if you could give me any information on Rev. Lewis Rose and Katherine Simpson both in SDM 90 Interestingly the dates you have seem to contradict the scotlands people web site, so I would be very interested in any inscription. Thank you.
St Duthus Old 26. In loving memory of David Munro who died at Springfield, Tain 12th March 1863 aged 54 years. Also of his wife Janet Grant who died at Tain 1st Jan 1885 age 68 years. The memory of the just .... blessed. Erected by their daughter Annie.
172. In loving memory of Wm Sinclair, Cabinet Maker died 18th Aug 1930 aged 65. His wife Margaret Jameson died 22nd Jan 1934 aged 65. His daughter Daisy died 10th Jan 1911 aged 14. His son John died of wounds in France 4th July 1918 aged 30.

A John Ross was admitted to Rosskeen on16th June 1813. Fasti Ecclesiĉ Scoticanĉ has the following information about him as his family:
JOHN ROSS, born 1750, son of Alexander Ross, burgess of Tain, and Helen Ross; died 8th Feb. 1824. He married Margaret, daughter of William Smith, tacksman of Brugh, Westray, and had issue Sibilla, born 9th Jan. 1771, died 30th July 1808; Alexander, born 11th May 1772; Helen, born 31st May 1775; Katherine, born 27th April 1777, died 14th April 1795; Elizabeth, born 25th April 1779; David, lieut. Royal Marines, born 27th Dec. 1780, died in London, 14th Oct. 1809; Marjory, born 11th Oct. 1782, died in Gibraltar, 1813; John, captain Grenadier Company Portuguese Infantry, born 23rd July 1784, killed on Heights of Mayo, 31st Aug. 1830; Margaret, born 26th Jan. 1787.
