Ailments

June 1, 2006. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that my tree had some leaves that were turning yellow while others were red. I also noticed that a few had black marks on them. I thought perhaps this was the "black dot" disease I had read about and have been treating the tree with neem oil misted once a week. I live in Alabama, so watering is a challenge. I check my trees 2 to 3 times a day and often have to water that often. Here are some current pictures....

It was pointed out to me that the tree's soil was not very well draining so I repotted it in a better soil.

July 4th, 2006

A couple of weeks ago the tree looked like it was on its last legs. There was more black spots than

green leaf. I decided to ditch the Neem Oil (the container says its good for black spot but some expert

bonsaists have told me it is certainly not) and use Daconil. I removed all the black spot and already

have alot of new, healthy growth.
