A little about my adventures...I am the eldest of ten children, love animals and began sculpting around May 2005 after discovering reborn babies whilst browsing ebay. I was home educated from the age of eight so was always happy to try anything that came about, after seeing the reborn dolls on ebay I decided I would like to have a go at reborning, whilst researching and picking up every bit of information I could, I stumbled across Camille Allens sculptures, and after reading on I found out they weren't reborns but sculptures. I made one or two reborns before getting a tiny pack of clay and giving sculpting ago.
I enjoyed sculpting alot more than the reborning as I could create anything with the piece of clay, cute little noses, perfect ears, jelly bean toes, just the way I'd like them.
I didn't learn how to do this from a book or from a teacher, I taught myself, and learnt alot with trial and error.
I can sculpt anything but at the moment my heart lies with the babies, as they have always appealed to me as has the perfect baby doll.
I like my sculptures to be ultra realistic, I think if they didn't look like real babies...they would just look like a childs play doll.
With these babies I have found that people are either really amazed and love them, or they wont go near them and hate them, maybe even are afraid of them.
I believe I will be sculpting for as long as I possibly can, and am always aiming higher than i can reach.
