Boncher Farm Boer Goats

With the exception of Sandrock all of these bucks have been own or raised at Boncher Farm.  Each buck played a part in forming the Boncher Farm herd of today.  Each one was a used with a specific purpose when chosen to breed the does.  They are arranged in order used.

Circle R Dominator Dog

Circle R Dominatior Dog or Dome as I called him, was the first buck I purchased to start my full blood program in 2002.  He met an untimely death within eight months after arriving to Illinois from Texas.  With a lot of help from Coni Ross, Jannette Wood, Large Animal Hospital of U of I, other support people/chat groups and Dome's will to survive I was able to get semen collected from him before his death.  Dome was one of a kind buck that was a sight to behold and still is thought of often.  In the spring of 2007 he will be great grand father by both grand daughters.  Below is a picture of Dome at 20 months of age, just prior to him coming to Illinois in 2002.  Picture courtesy of Toni Hawkins.

WAF Toby

Picture taken 11-2-2008

WAF Toby was Boncher Farm Senior Herd sire for many years.  I am very proud of him and his offspring which has muscling and great weight gains coming from the genetics of Downen's Pipeline on the top side.  His dam carries alot of the SA breeder Venter who is known for muscling and fast growing goats.  Toby's dam is double breed Ubora who was 1997 ABGA National Reserve Champion Get of Sire and the 1998 National Grand Champion Get of Sire.  Ubora sired the 1997 and 1999 ABGA National Grand Champion Junior Boer Bucks, Ubora's Champion and K'bora.  Numerous Ubora bucks kids have been the the top 10%  of the ASU-TAMU Buck Performance Test.  Ewing Valentino, a Ubora son was the 1997 top indexing buck of the performance test.  Toby was sold in the fall of 2008.

Hummer

Above pictures taken summer of 2006

Hummer was our senior herd sires who just like good wine got better with age.  Hummer was born as a triplet, raised by his 1st time mother here at the farm and he will always have a place on our farm.  His genetic threw AIing will be used as a outcross to 7A+ genetics.  With his heavy set hindquarters I believe his offspring bred back to a 7A+ genetics will be a plus.  Hummer has 12 ennobled animals in his 4 generation pedigree with all the great and proven old time industry stud bucks.  They include Eggsfile (2 times), Ubora, Kaptein, Pipeline, Yabu and Mojo Magic all wrapped into one powerful buck.

In his show debut Hummer wsa 1st in his class and went on to become Senior Division Champion at the ABGA sanctioned show on June 9, 2007 in Veedersburg, Ind. under Danny Thompson.

WCQ Tri Quest N100 Valentine

Photo taken 9-2007

I am so happy to finally have Valentine here at Boncher Farm and a big thank you to Ray and Jannette Wood of East Wood Farm of Texas for departing with a dear friend.  Valentine has passed inspection for Ennoblement.

Not many close descendants are left of Kaptein, Ubora, Tsjaka and other great original stud bucks.  These wonderful genetic are getting fewer and fewer threw dilution of their genetics.  Some of the newer breeders of Boer goat industry have gone on the latest fads/extreme with their breeding programs.  If you can not tell I like the vintage style of tried and true genetics and try hard to get them and preserve them.

I have been in Boer goats since 2001.  I have watched and studied the different genetics witnessing the changes made to the breed.  Most are not for the betterment of the breed in my opinion.  Personally I like the old original genetics and try my best to preserve them as given to us by South Africa.
