CONGRATULATIONS to the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CUP WINNERS World Cup Championship Report By : Robert Siese (See-See) This is the World Championships for the ARSD. Each
Game 2 Pioneers vs the Bombers Bomber Lineups General Manager Jim Fitzpatrick Women's Team Gwen Miller Captain Lali O Danille Rodriguez Jackie Holmes Lisa Hartmeyer Sanif Sarangen Pat Mckern Men's team Richard Brown Coach Maverick Captain Dave Martinez Rony Jong Makani Brian Perry Lorenzo Hale Tim Blatt Before the Game Started, a special ceremony honoring the Late Great Jumpin Joe Perez was presented. Joe's family was presented a plaque by Dave Marez who skated on several teams with Joe. He was a great skater and one of the best all purpose skaters to ever lace up the skates Period One Gwen Miller came up big for the Bombers scoring 2 points over Delgado and Carr. Debbie Van Doren scored a Grand Slam 5. Loli and Danielle Rodriguez each scored 2 points on separate plays. Mary Ann Carr continues to get in trouble serving back to back Penalties. The last jam was a 7 point play by Loli Bombers 13 Pioneers 5 Period 2 Maverick started the period with a Grand Slam for the Bombers. Ben Mirales answered with his own Grand Slam.Frank Apodaca came up with an excellent defensive play in the middle of the period stopping 2 Bombers. Great plays by Bombers Tim Blatt and Makani and a 3 point play by Ronnie Turbin changed the score Bombers 21 Pioneers 13 Period 3 Patsy Delgado started off the period with a point but her foot went in the infield costing her 3 points. She got a one minute penalty.Jackie Holmes quickly score 2. Lisa Hartmeyer and Debbie Van Doren went out on a jam and each got a one minute penalty for fighting.Gwen ended the period with a Grand Slam. Bombers 27 Pioneers 24 Period 4 The winner of the game goes on to the championship, the losers night is over. Ronnie Turbin scored 6 on a great play followed by a Grand Slam by Frank Apodaca for the Pioneers. Ronnie Jong scored 3 and Lorenzo Hale scored 3 to give the Bombers some breathing room. With 2:44 left the score was Bombers 33 Pioneers 25. A big play by Ben Miralles and Rick Johnson made the score Bombers 33 Pioneers 30. A great defensive play by Richard Brown stopping two Pioneer jammer locked up the victory for the Bomber's Final Score Bombers 33 Pioneers 30 The Bombers Move on to the Championship Game. Prior to the first period , Pioneer Bill Hill attacked
Dave Martinez and Alphonso Reyes was fined 250 dollars
for failure to control his team.
1st. Period
The Bombers started out fast with Loli scoring 5, Gina
Vallederes followed and scored 4 points for the
Pioneers. Mary Ann Carr was penalized for throwing a
skater over the rail. Janet Rovang ended the Period
with a 5 point jam for the Pioneers. During this
Period, Kerry Marengo was penalized and fined 50
dollars. That was her first penalty in 10 years. The
refs are trying to keep control early.
2nd. Period
Makani started off the period with 1 Point for the
Bombers. Bill Hill was starting to get penalized
frequently. Darryle Davis Scored 5 but the points were
taken away because his skate went on the infield.
Alphonso did sneak in a helmet hit on one of the
Bombers. Richard Brown ended the period with a 2 point
play for the Bombers. Pioneers 16 Bombers 11
3rd. Period
This period started off with Debbie Van Doren scoring
4 Points for the Pioneers. Judy Wessels scored 2 for
the Bombers on the next play. Things were getting out
of control in this Period. Sweet Stephanie started
attacking Loli and Alfonso Reyes of the Pioneers hit
Loli, Fought Richard Brown , who came over to protect
his skaters. Reyes was finally fined 500 dollars and
tossed out by Head Referee Hugh Kindall. After things
finally calmed down, Mary Ann Carr scored on a nice
play 3 Pioneer Points. Danielle Rodriquez scored 2 at
the end of the period. Pioneers 24 Bombers 19
4th. Period
A 1 Minute Penalty carried over from the Womens
Period (Sweet Steph fighting with Lali) Darryle Davis
started out the period scoring 3 . Maverick was
attacked by Bill Hill. It was becoming apparent the
Hill was here to fight . Richard Brown scored 4 for
the Bombers on an exciting play. Makani scored 1 near
the end of the period and Darryle Davis scored 2 for
the Bombers on the final play Bombers 29 Pioneers 27
at the half.
Match Race
In an exciting and hard fought match
race, Sweet Stephanie Garcia just edged out Lali at
the line to win the race. To everyone's credit they
let these girls skate. There was no interference even
though Patsy Delgado and Mizz Georgia Hase were on the
infield.

5th. Period
Gina Valladeres started off the period scoring 5 for
the Pioneers. Janet Rovang scored a big 4 point play
for the Pioneers. Patsy Delgado scored on a nice 3
point play. Lisa Hertmeyer scored her first points
ever when she was attacked by Mary Ann Carr and was
awarded 1 point. Patsy ended the period by scoring 3
and the Bombers were tied with the Pioneers 39 -39
6th. Period
Bill Hill continued his attacks on Bomber skaters. Ron
Turbin got fined 50 dollars. Pioneers Frank Apodaca
and Bill Hill were finally thrown out of the game. Dave
Rogers scored 4 for the Pioneers. Richard Brown
scored 7 for the Bombers.Vince Freas scored his first
points ever for the Pioneers. Makani and Darryle Davis
scored 1 point each on separate plays. Bombers 50

7th. Period
The scorers for the Pioneers this period were Debbie
Van Doren and Mary Ann Carr. With 3 minutes left in the
period Lali Scored 2 and on the final play of the
period Patsy Delgado not only scored 6 to give the
Bombers the lead , she hit Gina Vallederes, Mary Ann
Carr and Sweet Steph to delight the crowd here at the

8th. Period
Even though Hill and Apodaca were thrown out, Ronnie
Turbin and Dave Rogers did good work for their
Pioneers. Rick Johnson Tied the score for the Pioneers
with 5:30 left on a nice 3 point play. Maverick powered
through the pack to score 5 for the Bombers. 64 -59
Bombers. Nice Plays by Rick Johnson and Ben Miralles
brought the Pioneers back to lead by one 65-64.
Lorenzo Hale scored for the Bombers to give them a 2
