The Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS)
CIMS is a coalition of individuals and international organizations with concern for the care and well-being of mothers, babies, and families. Their mission is to promote a wellness model of maternity care that will improve birth outcomes and substantially reduce costs. This evidence-based mother-, baby- and family-friendly model focuses on prevention and wellness as the alternatives to high-cost screening, diagnosis and treatment programs. www.motherfriendly.org
Texans for Midwifery-Austin (TfM-A)
TfM-A is a consumer-based group working to inform families, the medical community and decision makers about midwives and midwifery care. They promote The Midwives Model of Care as a valuable birth option that should be available wherever women choose to birth, both inside and outside the hospital.
