Welcome to my art portfolio website! My name is Bethany, I am 16 years old and in grade 11, attending South Lincoln High School. Since taking art classes, I have developed a passion for creating my own pieces of work reflecting my life. I have enjoyed using different and new medium styles this year in class to create pieces I did not know I could create. My Artistic Statement...

To me, art is the world. The earth itself is a creation, a master piece. We are works of art that create more art; a product from our imaginations that engages only that imaginative mind. Anyone can create a piece of art, but not everyone considers these efforts as art. To be an artist means to be able to recognize your abilities and passionately use these skills to make something of value to you.

Before I create a piece of art, I try to begin believing that when I am finished, I will have created something I will treasure. If I start by thinking my work will not look the way I intend it to look, it will not. By having these positive thoughts, I have discovered my strenghts and weaknesess in various medium styles. I plan to continue experimenting with new ways of approaching art which will always resemble my own personal experiences.
