Troop R Newsletter

January/February 2005

Dear fellow Shadower,
Hope everything is going well with all the troops. Troop R is doing great. We are actually doing so great that we are even planning on having a Troop Show in March or April. The kids are all very excited about it. We have also started a troop fund-raiser and it is not going very well. But we will strive to be the strong troop we are and conquer through anything. Good luck to everyone with future plans they might have with their troop.

Capt. Michelle Peterson

Troop R

Hello Everyone,

I want to congratulate everyone for two wonderful days of shows. I had a fabulous time watching both of the posts drill and am starting to get really nervous about the regimental show. There is going to be a lot of competition. The nights have been extremely cold and I hope everyone is staying warm by playing a ton of games. Troop R is having a lot of fun with all the parties we have been having. With all of our birthdays, Thanksgiving, Halloween and the night before the show parties we are full of pizza and coke. Troop R would like to thank Troop C for coming to our Halloween Haunt at Magic Mountain with us. It was an experience bringing all those kids with us. Major Johnstone kept making fun of Capt. Herrera and I for counting every time we got out of a maze to make sure all 35 of us were there. We never lost anyone. Troop R will also be having a Christmas party at 1st Lt. Allyson Imm house again this year. This is our year to make ornaments and eat lots of tacos. Someone always ends up with some kind of paint on their face. Hope everyone has a happy holiday and bundles up very well. We all know what it is like to dismount a horse with cold feet.

I would like to nominate Stable Sergeant Rachel Bennett for the Shadow of the Month. She has done a tremendous job in keeping the troop together. She shows up every week with a positive attitude and is always willing to help the night run smoother. I am honored to have Sgt. Rachel Bennett in Troop R.

Happy Holidays, Capt. Michelle Peterson
