Change is not always a bad thing. I say this because there will be a great deal of changes taking place in troop K. As many of you already know, Capt. Campos of troop I will be leaving Blue Shadows effective March 4th. I have knows Felicia a long time and I wish her tehe very best in life. However, her departure means that someone must fill her place and yours truly, Capt Miller, has been selected to command troop I. I love troop K so very deeply and will always have a gap in my heart that will stay with them. But enough sad stuff, this change will be a true test for myself and Capt Fone, who will command troop K solely. I have the utmost faith that Bree, Shawna and everyone els will rise to the occasion and more than compensate for the gap that I will leave. We all look forward to this adventure that we are embarking on. My last day will be March 2nd, which also happens to be our troop show. I hope everyone supports us and comes to the ranch to watch us show off our stuff. Peace and happy trails partners!

Well, another show come and gone. Troop K has many things to be proud of, and some not to be. First, I must pay respect to Sgt. Kayla Deliso for the outstanding effort she put forth. It is never easy to drill in your first show, and Kayla had many handicaps going into the show as it was (hello, was anyone inconvenienced by the rain? I thought Major Johnstone had cleared things up with the weather gods). Errors are expected in a drill, and I am very proud of Kayla and everyone else in troop K for their bravery and commitment.
I must congratulate many troop k riders for their equitation performances. Trp. Alemoh received 5th, TFC Torres won 2nd, Corp Villasenor placed 3rd and Corp Swafford 1st (Ayla also won 1st in jr. private, Carina 4th and Candice 3rd, Woohoo girls)! Troop K can not be held done forever, and if our practices are any indication of things to come, we will be rising to the occasion in the future. We are practicing very hard and in fact are planning to hold a troop show at the end of January. I hope everyone plans on coming and supporting this display of organized chaos. Happy holidays everyone, and for Pete’s sake, wear layers!!!
-Until Next Time, Capt. Jeremy Miller
