Blue Shadows / Teton Wagon train Raffle:

1. The purchase price of each raffle ticket is $100. A "purchase" shall not occur and be binding on until funds delivered for the same have cleared the bank. Checks or money orders should be made payable to "Blue Shadows". Payments are not tax deductible. Payments may purchased directly at events or be mailed or made in person at:

2. A maximum of 100 tickets will be sold for raffle. Any ticket and payments turned in after the closure of the raffle will be returned to the prospective buyers. All monies received for tickets shall be considered "requests" until recorded by Blue Shadows as a "purchase". All sales and purchases of raffle tickets shall be deemed made and effective only upon acceptance at the raffle office of Blue Shadows, 9721 Hierba Rd , Agua Dulce , CA 91390 , or at the respective event, as defined in rule 7.
 

3. Completed entries must be in the possession of Blue Shadows by 7:00 a.m. on November 1st, 2008. Unless otherwise personally delivered to an authorized representative of Blue Shadows at the event by the time of the drawing.  
 

4. If an entrant's check is dishonored prior to the drawing, the entry ticket will be declared invalid, losing its place in line as a request pursuant to Rule 2 and shall remain so until a new payment is received by Blue Shadows. All checks found dishonored after the drawing must be honored. A $20.00 charge will be assessed for non-sufficient funds or stop payment checks. There shall be no refunds for any reason unless specifically provided for in these rules.
 

5. Purchasers of raffle tickets must be 18 years of age or older on or before the drawings take place November 1st, 2008. Members of the Board of Directors of Blue Shadows and their immediate family are not eligible to win.   
 

6. In addition to publication and announcement of the winner at the drawing ceremony, all winners will be notified in writing, names of all winners will be posted on the Blue Shadows website (www.blueshadows.org).

 

7. Winner will be determined by a random drawing. The drawing will take place live on air between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. November 1st, 2008. at the KHTS AM-1220 radio station located at 7225 Camp Plenty Road Ste 8 Canyon Country CA 91351 .  Winners need not be present to win.  Winners will be notified as provided in Rule 6.

 

 

 

 

8. Each raffle ticket purchased shall constitute an "entry" into the raffle, and the person to whom the raffle ticket is registered shall be the "entrant". More than one name may be stated on the ticket registration form; however the ticket shall be registered to the first name listed, and who shall constitute the sole "entrant" for that ticket. The winning entrant shall be the "winner" of the prize. Payment to or delivery of any prize will be made to the "entrant."

 

9. The decision of Blue Shadows will be final and in its sole discretion in all matters pertaining to this raffle.

10. Prize winners grant Blue Shadows permission to use their names and prizes for promotional purposes.

11. Per IRS ruling, the purchase of raffle tickets is not considered a gift and does not qualify as a Tax-deductible charitable contribution.

An exciting family vacation and a unique outdoor experience, venture into the past and relive the experiences of the American West on the Teton Covered Wagon Train and Horse Adventure! Departure date to be arranged by winner for travel between June 15, 2009 and Aug 30, 2010. (Travel expenses to and from Jackson Hole Wyoming are the responsibility of the prize winner and are not covered in the raffle; min. age requirement of 4 years old)  Estimated Trip Value $4000.

TICKETS CANNOT BE PURCHASED ONLINE OR BY E-MAIL  

Odds - Odds of winning depend on the total of tickets sold.  If all 100 tickets are sold, the odds of winning the grand prize are 1:100.

A raffle entrant’s sole and exclusive remedy for any claim against Sponsor arising out of the sale of raffle tickets or the conduct of the raffle shall be limited to the return of the purchase price paid for his or her raffle ticket(s).  In no event shall Sponsor, its directors, officers, or representatives be liable to any party for any loss or  injury to earnings, profits or goodwill, or for any incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages of any person or entity whether arising in contract, tort or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. If for any reason the raffle is cancelled or by November 1st 2008 no more than 35 tickets have been sold all money collected to date will be returned in full to all purchasers and all tickets will be null and void.  

By letter from the Attorney General’s office, The Blue Shadows Mounted Drill Team has registered with the Department of Justice under Raffle Registration number RF 0003007 and is authorized to conduct raffles in California pursuant to the provisions of Penal Code Section 320.5 for the raffle period, which begins, September 1, 2008 and ends August 31, 2009.  Blue Shadows Mounted Drill Team will receive 100% of the profit raised by the sale of raffle tickets to support the activities of the organization.  Founded in 1957, Blue Shadows is a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.
