November/December 2004 Newsletter
Hey Shadows,
It has been a very productive month for Troop H; and judging by the amazing drills at both the Agua Dulce and Lake View Terrace Shows, it's obvious we have all been working hard. Congratulations to everyone on a wonderful pair of shows. Troop H finished with a 2nd in Equitation Highpoint, and 2nd in Troop Drill with our very own 1st Lt. Brittany Ames drilling Planned and 1st Sgt. Lily Ross drilling Impromptu. We worked tirelessly for many weeks in preparation, so great job Troop H!
Also at the show, 1st Sgt. Lily Ross was promoted to 2nd Lt. This was closely followed by two other promotions within the troop; now we have Plt. Sgt. Brianna Cox and Cpl. Laura Sanchez. Great job ladies, and well deserved! At the show, Troop H's TFC Marty Vilmer was recognised with his family for showing outstanding dedication to Shadows and especially JAT, which he often attends and watchs. So thank you Marty. We have a couple birthdays this month: Trooper Kimberly Curry turned nine on 10/19, and Trooper Sarah Santos turned ten on 12/28. Happy Birhtday!
Troop H also has a very exciting new activity we will be doing in January called Rank Shadow night, where our entire troop will switch ranks for one night to learn about other rank's responsibilities. Capt. Steibel, Lt. Hampton, myself, and Sgt. Cox will be troopers and the rest of our troop will choose between other ranks and be expected to prepare for their night as a different rank.
Best of luck to everyone in the coming New Year and Happy Holidays! Good luck to all those trying out for JAT, and best wishes to the JAT team once we start up again in January!
2nd Lt. Lily Ross
