3. If asked your name respond, rank, last name, MA'AM (or SIR).
4. If you don't know the answer to a question asked, always say "I don't remember
ma'am (or sir)". Or "I don't know ma'am (or sir)". Or "I'll sure find out
the answer ma'am (or sir)".
5. Know all of the grooming tools and what they are used for. Also know the parts of the
horse,
saddle, and
bridle.
6. Know the responsibilities of your rank.
7. What would you do if someone fell off their horse during troop?--Call "Troop halt, ma'am (or sir)".
8. Know where the front of the pad goes in saddling. Know how tight you make the cinch when first saddling, what to do if the saddle (gullet) is on your horses withers. Where do your
hands go when mounting and dismounting?
9. If your horse starts limping in troop, who do you tell?-- Your corporal, they will tell the drilling
officer.
