Hello! I'm Jeff DeFord, host of Bluegrass Roots And Branches - a weekly online radio show bringing you the exciting history and progression of bluegrass music. Each week I search through my personal archive of mostly-forgotten recordings (some dating as far back as the late 1800's) to bring you tunes from the early days of recorded acoustic music. You'll hear string bands, balladeers, cowboy songs, jug bands, Appalachian folk and early bluegrass pioneers. In addition to the historic music heard on the show you'll also enjoy newer releases from artists that are keeping the acoustic traditions alive and some that are taking the music in another direction entirely.
