Sitting at the -=bd=- ChatRoom table while an interview with the <SNS6> Clan Leader ShinobiXtreme was being conducted, I am reminded of certain facets of the conversion which were being hampered by a particular individual, a 'player' who was trying hard to gain our attention throughout the interview process. Not to be perturbed, the nature of the Shadow Ninjas Sigma Six clan leader shone through, as more and more interruption took place. A cool Shinobi kept even tempo as he disregarded the antics of this individual?s attempts to distract us, and continued to answer all my questions with poise. Let's get an insight into this leader, one of the dominant forces currently among us. The inner sanctum of ShinobiXtreme is not depicted here, but we do show some insight into the character we have all come to respect. -=bd=- Runner: What make?s SNS6 special? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: Appreciate of the question Runner, let me firstly add that we bring a new flavour to online gaming. Not just playing to win, but we play to have fun while attempting the win. We try to help the community, giving respect, which is of most importance. Note: Shinobi does not like troublemakers, and feels that others do not enjoy St because of this type of person. He believes that he put up with them, until he became a better player himself. These people would mostly judge others and not help them in any way. Thus creating a 'brotherhood' of friends, Shinobi believes that he has been integral to this. -=bd=- Runner: How long have you been involved with ST? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: About two years, beginning around late 2004. Initially with ZDAEMON in the original SNIN, which had four members. -=bd=- Runner: In a few words, what was your happiest ST moment? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: Funny question Runner, it would have to be meeting SlayerXtreme. -=bd=- Runner: Next best? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: When the clan grew from being quiet tiny, to a major player which well known and has to be respected. When you see the success of it, something you have started, it feels pretty good. The idea of being a good guy, and not get stomped on, giving our members a voice, is a great feeling. -=bd=- Runner: Worst ST moment? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: When Tiger and Aeon almost made SlayerXtreme quit SNS6 -=bd=- Runner: Having allied with -=bd=- and =Raven= clans, how does this benefit the Shadow Ninjas? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: Through the larger reach of allied soldiers and reconnaissance against the enemy. If SNS6 are ever in trouble, ever in need, help will be there, and visa versa. -=bd=- Runner: Your favourite colour? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: BLACK -=bd=- Runner: What message would you like to give to the -=bd=- clan members? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: Together good friends can make ST a safer, more fun place for all. -=bd=- Runner: Favourite ST pic in this past month? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: Nothing in particular. -=bd=- Runner: I noticed your tribute to the Croc Hunter on your web site? <SNS6> ShinobiXtreme: I thought it was an awesome thing, the way he died, that he died while trying to save animals. Hmm, a very special person. I saw the headline of his death, and was devastated as I had previously modelled myself on some of Steve's beliefs. I pay respect to his family and want to focus on making him proud - I took it pretty hard. Given that this was a brief interview I certainly did gain some insight into Shinobi, his character and presence. He has a seemingly spiritual side, in which he is the master of, after all he is the Shadow Ninja warrior. Thank you Shinobi for allowing us to carry out this short interview for our clan member, may you and your clan expand and prosper into the future. -=bd=- Runner

Death Match - Skullvomit002.wad
When we need some action Skullvomit's latest creation certainly has some appeal. Here is a quick look at a project, which has become a very special achievement.
His name suggests a fair amount of thought was taken with it, but when asked, Skullvomit replies "... it came suddenly, thinking of Skull Tag I associated with the word Skullvomit". It certainly is a striking name.

Like his name, this map certainly has some impact; we'll take a look after this intro. Like most projects they evolve through layering of ideas, one after another but you get the feeling that there was a fair amount of planning behind this one.
After trying a few ideas some 8 months ago, he never really did a lot, and then suddenly came up with the idea of this map.

Initially going to be for single player mode, he never thought about a Death Match until SkullTag came along. -=bd=- Skullvomit has been involved with SkullTag for only a few months, and the -=bd=- clan more recently.

Skullvomit has a few other maps, which are weak in comparison to this one, and the problem he now faces is that fact that he may never manage to create another map quite as good. He has recently started a follow on from this one and when complete will attach to this, creating a final ?masterpiece?.
Back in Dec ?05 he began using WAD Author Tutorial and still very much believes himself to be a ?NOOB? at creating maps. In future he will be using the more full featured Doom Builder.
Let?s have a look at more pics?
The hardest part to make was the differing floor heights and centre room lighting effects, along with the ?slime? room below.

The alignment of windows so that a connection to each other is seen from a distance, was a difficult task but important feature, along with the alignment of textures.

Skullvomit describes, ??Matching a blue armour near a blue wall gives a room a nice effect?.

Hissy is used for a distraction, and the room itself was going to be a storage facility. Adding the lighting and getting the effects just right was the hardest part. You'll need to check the wad to see it...

When asked the longest time he has spent in his map, he says ?..hmm, 5-6 hours. But when you have created a map, and see it come to life with other people playing it, it becomes addictive, very special?.
Well done -=bd=- Skullvomit - can't wait for the next one!!!

CALL FOR WAR COUNCIL
Issues concerning the dispute over which the SA clan leader and the BlueDragon leader had, have now dissipated since the beginning.
A call for a -=bd=- War Council is being raised now, where some of the top leaders meet to discuss issues with respect to clan opponents in times of war. Issues to be discussed could include how other members are to be kept informed of latest events

NO SIGN OF SA CLAN
Hi expectation for the -=bd=- clan to dominate the battle arena has been diminished by a lack of impetus in the SA vs -=bd=- WAR.
As -=bd=- Druglord suggests, ?perhaps the dispute is over?.
Has the problem been settled? Or are we awaiting a settlement through a tournament?
We?ll keep you updated as news comes in? Please provide feedback if you have any news we may want to add with respect to the WAR. -=bd=- news team

Clan War Breaks Out
The 26th Day of August in the Year 2006, Clan War declared after heated discussion between leaders of the SA and BlueDragon clan.
News is that Smiley asked the leader of the SA clan if he could curb the attitude of Ben Nukem. Ben has been causing problems since he left the BlueDragon clan and interfering with the current members game play etc. A lot of you would be aware of the concern caused by Ben Nukem, and Smiley's idea of asking his current clan leader to talk to him, to me seems the right way to go.
Apparently the SA leader called Smiley a NOOB, and so War was declared due to the hostile nature of the taunt Smiley received.
Updates in future...

Interview
-=bd=- Cyberdemon
The great Cyberdemon chases his opponent until they're almost beaten then moves off, lurking in the background giving false hope to the enemy. False hope that they may be able to survive by finding extra health, a false hope because after swiftly recharging with ammo Cyberdemon strikes again - and you Fail It!!!

Suddenly bang, he appears again from nowhere and you realise you have no hope. Without warning he attacks, without any drama, without the hoopla and fancy talk. Now don't be fooled he does have a sense of humour, it's just that while fragging for a quick finish he holds this humour at bay, until the final moments, after which he laughs all the way - to Victory.
It seems that Cyberdemon has victory in sight even as the odds seem against him, victory awaits with the next frag, as one leads to the next he can always come back for the shock win.
He likes to trap his opponent(s) and often takes advantage of their hiding place, knowing they are hiding away and looking for the kill, Cyberdemon uses that to his advantage. He can strike from anyway, with a sense of the battle ground like no other.

He is Cyberdemon, formally known as TheCyberdemon, changing his name for no particular reason. In Team battle he leads the way at the top of the leader board, and still finds time to help those team mates who are getting fragged upon, coming to their rescue.

Keeping a watchful eye on proceedings, never jumping in too quickly, timing his actions to perfection, lurking poised for action, he shows his mystical nature and true warrior attitude. He never gives in and makes you feel happy to be on the same team.

When asked about his favourites below, the answers were simple for him.
Weapons - ALL
Game Type - ALL
WAD - 3 secretive wads, still a mystery at this stage
Worst score - from mucking around, not concerned with the outcome
Best score - Duel: Perfect 10-0 against a formidable opponent
Current projects:
Cyberdemon is working on a Wad, which is set to be magical experience. It has turned into a large project by the sound of it and must have taken quite some time in organising. He brings great game play experience into the build and it should turn out to be a delight for those who do get to play it.
Thank you to Cyberdemon for allowing this story to be published on our clan web site.

Wad News
Death Match - Smiley6.wad
Entry into Map01 takes us to one of eight starting points. Either at the bottom, or top of the large central bowl shaped arena.
As you move around the top plain, you are gravitated toward taking the bridge, which leads out to a Rocket Launcher. The bridge's creation became a challenge but Smiley persevered and got there in the end.
Travelling along the bridge takes you to the Rocket Launcher and after picking up this item you "fall" off into a transporter, which takes you back to the top circular area of the arena once more.
Dropping off any of the top-level areas you are invited to run around the centre, where a lot of manoeuvring is needed, since there is no place for campers to hide away. The main weapon here is the Super Shot Gun (SSG) and there is plenty of ammo at hand.
Map02: "Nowhere to hide makes for a quick game". A quote by -=bd=- Mastan. This allows you to "trap your opponents", he adds.

A series of bridges at the top level of this map brings you to another Rocket Launcher, at the end of which allows you to jump up into an area containing s Soul Sphere, obtaining extra health is what you'll need in this map.
Of course opposite this are "the pads". The spring pad zones, allowing us to jump to high areas, not just for "writing down our appointments on", says Mastan. The pads give you access to the dreaded Doom Sphere. Next to this is the snipers hideaway - be careful now, you'll have to watch your back in here.
Map03: Are we in ancient Egypt? Wow check out the central structure with the Plasma Gun on top, just awaiting your arrival.

Plenty of open space here and areas to get away in, something we need when -=bd=- Cyberdemon is chasing you.
Map04: The Longest Lift - well seemingly going on forever, this lift does eventually stop, taking you to nowhere and back, but it's the spot where the BFG10K hangs out, one of our favourite pieces hardware.

With plenty of cavernous areas to sneak into, you'll need to stay for a while.
Map05: The waste tunnels... I'm not certain about the name of this one, but it's got quite a lot going for it.

A bridge, castle and plenty of space with smooth lines and textures, all of which make it a great map.

Hide away, attack on the inclines, jump the bridge... it's pretty cool.

Become the invisible man - You'll need to talk to the creator, Smiley our clan leader about this one.
Map06 and the end of this series, bring us into a feverishly spooky place. One main open area, unlike the rest of the maps in the wad, this has plenty of action awaiting you as you move along corridors and into the nicely structured rooms.

The map has a strong feel to it, dark, which is aided by the dark music too. A little spooky and -=bd=- Shayne has already asked about the ghosts... there can't be any could there?
You find out.
Well done Smiley, J
