Phase IV: Fall Required Activities
Opening Event
Held on August 19th (the Sunday night before classes begin). The Opening Event is your chance to reconnect with others in your theme as well as Blue Chip staff members. To make up Opening Event, check in with a Blue Chip staff member during the first week of classes to receive your Blueprint and any information you have missed.

Blue Chip Symposium
Held on September 15th. You will participate in a half-day workshop series covering the Blue Chip program, excellence through leadership, and being a role model as a leader. The make-up for Blue Chip Symposium is to attend 3 ATLAS workshops of your choice (schedule located at www.union.arizona.edu/atlas) and the following workshops: Preventing Hazing (ATLAS workshop) and Protect your Webutation (ATLAS workshop or NCLC workshop).

Fall Interphase
This event will offer you the opportunity to learn more about issues within your theme and meet Phase II, III, and IV students in your theme. Interphases are offered at the beginning of each semester. Contact your Theme Coordinator for make-up information. Interphases have occurred for Fall 2007.

C.H.I.P. Series-Health and Housing: After College Preparation Workshop
This session is designed to help you in your transition from college into the “real world” with issues related to housing, health insurance, finance, and retirement. There are no make-up workshops for the Health and Housing Workshop. Workshops are offered on the following days:

C.H.I.P. Series-Interview Skills
This session is designed to help you in your transition from college into the “real world.” You will learn effective interviewing strategies as well as how to articulate your leadership and involvement experiences in an interview. Workshops are offered on the following days:

Mock Interview
Participate in a Mock Interview and get feedback on how to effectively interview for jobs, graduate school, scholarships, etc. Mock interviews will take place on February 8th all day. You will need to sign up for a time slot with Career Services by stopping by their office with your resume and setting an appointment time. If you are not able to set up an interview on February 8th, sign up for another day/time with Career Services.
Another All Day Interview Day was set by Career Services. It will be on April 4th. Go to Career Service to sign up.
Fall Mentor Meeting
You will meet with your mentor at least once during the semester to discuss your college and leadership experiences as well as career interests and get feedback on your Leadership Portfolio. There is no make-up for the Mentor Meeting.

Fall Community Service
At a minimum, you will be responsible for ten hours of individual service per semester in Phase IV. The Service Coordinators will help you find projects to meet your needs and help the community. Stay tuned to the Blue Chip listserv and check out the website for information on service opportunities as well. There is no make-up for Fall Community Service.

Fall Leadership & Involvement Transcript (LIT)
The LIT provides students the opportunity to begin documenting their leadership and extra-curricular activities utilizing an official University source. You are expected to begin an LIT during Phase I and continue adding to it throughout your time in Blue Chip. There is no make-up for Fall LIT.
Fall Leadership Portfolio
The portfolio will allow you to capture the activities and leadership involvement during college, stay organized, and create a display to show during job or leadership position interviews. You can use your portfolio for job interviews, scholarship processes, and keeping track of your leadership experiences. You will prepare and present your portfolio in your theme class. There is no make-up for the Fall Leadership Portfolio. The following information should be in your portfolio:

State of the Chip
Attend our yearly State of the Chip from 4-5pm on January 30th in the Ballroom for our Blue Chip mid-year update and to learn about new happenings in Blue Chip and Leadership Programs. The make-up for State of the Chip is to review the information covered by clicking on State of the Chip Info and fill out the State of the Chip Event Form.

Spring Leadership & Involvement Transcript (LIT)

Spring Leadership Portfolio

Your Team Leader must approve your portfolio completion. There is no make-up for the Spring Leadership Portfolio. The following information should be in your portfolio for Spring semester:

Capstone Paper
You will write a Capstone Paper, a 3-page reflection paper on your Blue Chip experience. Your paper is due to the Blue Chip office by March 28th, 2008. There is no make-up for the Capstone Paper.

Capstone papers are due to Jeff one week before your Capstone presentation.
Capstone Presentation
You will create and present a 15-minute open presentation reflecting on your Blue Chip experience. You should be prepared to bring your portfolio with you to your Capstone. When you turn in your Capstone Paper, you will sign up for a time to do your Capstone Presentation. Presentations will occur during from April 14th-18th and April 21st-24th. Feel free to invite friends, family, staff, faculty, etc. to your Capstone Presentation. There is no make-up for the Capstone Presentation. Sign up on Jeff's door starting March 26th.

Phase IV Evaluation
In order for us to find out more about your experience in Blue Chip for the year, you are asked to fill out an evaluation about your Phase IV experience. This can help us learn more about you and new ideas for Blue Chip. There is no make-up for the Phase IV Evaluation.
