Tea Alchemist Ending

Tea alchemist ending in brief outline can be found [here].

[The only happy ending in this game. Ed is renamed as the "Tea Alchemist".]

NOTE: There are many parts where Ed has the option to go anywhere he wants in the headquarters. He will talk to certain people depending on where you (the player) want him to go. As it's not possible to list all the possible conversations he has with everyone in this ending, what you see here will be how *I* played this ending. Hence it may be different when *you* play it. For the purposes of completeness, see the other endings to find out what other possible conversations Ed has with everyone. So however you choose to play it, you'd get the conversations I've written down at some point.

First day

See [here].

Second day

Ed notices his uniform seems smaller and asks Al if it shrunk. Al tells him he made some alterations to it, to which Ed is touched. At work, he's surprised to see Roy in the Fuhrer's room. Roy calls him "Mr. Secretary", but then thinks "little kid secretary" is more fitting, pissing Ed off. King Bradley says he's the one who invited him here, because it would be more interesting to have someone drinking tea with him. Ed should pour tea to King Bradley.

Free time; [remember, do NOT go to Roy's office throughout the game] if Ed goes to the front desk, he'll see Hawkeye, who tells him Black Hayate is about to receive formal military training. The receptionist appears and gives Hawkeye the documents she needs. Hawkeye leaves and says maybe she’ll come over to his house sometime. Ed agrees.

Free time; if Ed goes to the garden, he'll meet Havoc, who will talk about not having a girlfriend and that being Roy's fault. Roy appears and talks about a successful man having both career and a girlfriend. [For the actual transcript, see the Veggie!Ed ending]

Free time; if Ed goes to the corridor, he'll meet Fury, who's trying to fix a chair he broke when he and Breda sat on it together. Fury doesn't want Ed to fix it with alchemy because he feels it's something he can fix by himself using ordinary means.

Free time; if Ed goes to the resources room, he'll meet Farman, who tells him he's studying for the State Alchemist exam and feels he isn't really military material.

At the end of the day, agree to work overtime for King Bradley. Ed gets hungry afterwards and King Bradley offers some cookies to him. His wife made them. Ed says they’re very tasty, and that they give him a feeling of family warmth. King Bradley tells him to take the cookies back home to his brother. Ed thanks him.

When Ed gets home, he should go directly to his room so that he doesn’t talk to Al. There’ll be an option to either go to sleep or to do something else. Pick the first option:

Perhaps...this is....the beginning of a nightmare...

Third day

At the entrance of the headquarters, there's that conversation between Roy and Ed, where Roy thinks Ed's "techniques are rather poor" and says some other sexually implicit stuff which makes Hawkeye disapprove. [For the actual transcript, see the Roy ending.]

Pour tea to the Fuhrer first.

Free time; if Ed goes to the garden, he'll see Fury feeding the birds.

Free time; if Ed goes to the front desk, he'll overhear a conversation between Havoc and his girlfriend. Havoc is trying to ask whether she's free this week, but she replies she doesn’t have time, while Havoc keeps asking her, “How about next next week?”
“But I thought next next week you’re supposed to do an inspection at the Eastern Headquarters with the General?”
“Oh…..I forgot.”
“I think, since we can’t find enough time for each other, we should stop seeing each other.”
“Wait….I can….”
“Sorry….I still have work to do….I need to go now….”
“Wait…..”

Ed goes to comfort him. It seems Havoc already had a girlfriend back when he was at the Eastern Headquarters and that “no matter how little time I had, she never complained, and whenever we saw each other, she’d never ask me about my work. She really is a nice and considerate girl….”
“Then why didn’t you stay at the Eastern Headquarters?”
“Perhaps…..sometimes….a man needs to put his career as priority….”
“Is that so….”
“Actually….I’m not so sure myself….to be on top of everything…..I’m not really too concerned with that….but that person [Roy]…..if I follow him…..maybe I can do something meaningful! Since it’s all in the past anyway….to tell the truth, I don’t have much luck with females….”
“No way….you’ll definitely find a suitable woman!”
Havoc is surprised. “I really didn’t expect such a thing coming out from a little kid ~” [note: Havoc calls him “o-chibi-san”]
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING A LITTLE KID WHO CAN’T GROW?!!!!!!!!”

Lunch time. Havoc and Ed have lunch together. Havoc asks Ed why he doesn't have a girlfriend yet. Ed gets embarrassed and says being with Al is his priority right now.

Free time; if Ed goes to the break room, Fury’s in there. Ed remarks that Fury doesn’t seem to be the type of person to be in the military. Fury asks what he should be then. Ed’s can't think of an answer right now. Fury says it must be because he doesn’t have any strengths. Ed denies it. “It’s just that you haven’t realized your own strengths yet! And you’re really quite cute~ just like….”

“Cute? That’s…..the first time anyone’s said that about me…..”
“No way…..the other people must be blind or something!!! Anyway, what did you do before coming into the military?”
“Before the military? At that time……I didn’t really do anything….”
“You didn’t do anything? How is that possible?! Were you…..”

At this point, a random soldier tells Fury that he can go into the General’s office now. Fury leaves.

Free time; if Ed goes to the resources room, he'll get annoyed at something being put too high for him to reach. Farman comes along and helps him. He also helps Ed write a report on the growth of human population in the East for the Fuhrer's perusal. Ed wants to treat him to lunch, but Farman just wants help on alchemy.

At the end of the day, Envy appears, hinting there's something wrong with Al's body.

Work overtime. Afterwards, Ed notices a picture of the Fuhrer's family. He remembers it's been some time since he took a picture with his brother.

When Ed gets home, he should go to bed directly.

Fourth day

Ed's sick today. Everyone's concerned.

Pour tea to King Bradley.

Free time; if Ed goes to the resources room, he may either see Farman [who'll talk about the sparring contest being included in this year's State Alchemist examination], or he'll find the room empty. In this case, he'll find a book that mentions the homunculi and the ouroboros symbol.

...highly dangerous, they are known to be man-made, and possess unique abilities...

"Ugh...why did I have to read this sort of thing...but then...why did Envy appear yesterday...it seems they won't appear in public.....only in private...and their existence can last up to hundreds of years...even though I can't pinpoint what they're trying to do....but I'm certain they're definitely 'highly dangerous'. When I think of this....never mind, I should get to work now..."

At lunch, he meets Breda, who talks about chess.

At the end of the day, agree to work overtime. Ed gets tired and sleeps on the couch.

Ed: "Huh.....where am I......I fell asleep....this jacket....it's...."
King Bradley: "Did you sleep well?"
Ed: "Fuhrer!!! I..."
King Bradley: "Has there been too much work lately? Can your body handle it?"
Ed: "I....I'm okay with it! I'm just...."
King Bradley: "I think that's all for today! You should go home and get some rest! Don't let your brother worry about you."
Ed: "Fu...I understand! Thank you!"

Fifth day

Pour tea to King Bradley.

Free time; if Ed goes to the resources room, he'll find a book on chimeras.

The original purpose was to fuse two or more living things with the use of alchemy....in other words, this is something that goes against ordinary principles of humanity...

"....then why do people do it?"

....the product of this transmutation will possess the qualities of the animals used....including appearance, ability, habits and psychology....and because of this, chimeras are sometimes used by some people to carry out horrific deeds...even though there have been rumours of a transmutation using an animal and human being...as there is no evidence....little is known of this.

"...........this really makes me think of unhappy things...."

Free time; Again, [and I've said this before already] don't go to Roy's office [actually, it's probably best if you stay in the resources room since Roy tends to pop up everywhere, but that's not how I played the game anyway]. Anyway, if you choose to go to the front desk, Ed will talk to the receptionist, who reminds him to have his lunch and to take care of his body. Ed looks at her funny, and she quickly apologizes for being so disrespectful. Ed replies, "....umm.....it's okay....anyway, I'm off to get lunch now~"

"Good....good bye...."

Lunch time. Ed gets to choose whether to eat with Fury or Farman. It doesn't matter who he chooses. If he chooses Farman, Farman will ask whether it's true that Ed uses alchemy to solve his daily problems.

"I guess so....though Al's always disapproving, saying "You can't use alchemy for everything"..."
"Alphonse is correct~"
"Well, I know that too...actually, our master said the same thing! But maybe it's because humans are proud creatures...."
"Colonel...."
"Ah, really! Why are we talking about such depressing things over lunch~"

Free time; if Ed goes to the resources room, he'll be happy that he can find certain information [what exactly we don't know] because he can't get it anywhere else. He's a bit bothered by the files; he thinks there's so many, he won't be able to finish it in years. "Haha....but who's going to spend all *that* time doing that anyway........sigh....it seems there's only one person who'd do that....."

Free time; if Ed goes to the resources room again, he'll organize the files into their respective places until it's time to go home. King Bradley remarks that Ed's gradually getting used to the job as his secretary. Agree to work overtime.

While he's working overtime, he'll get a call.

Ed: "Hello? This is the Fuhrer's office!"
Samuel: "Hello....? May I ask if father's here?"
Ed: "Father...? Um....you must be Samuel?!"
Samuel: "Um....I am...who are you?"
Ed: "I'm his secretary - Edward Elric!"
Samuel: "HUH?!!! You're that little bean alchemist, right?!!!"
Ed: "WHO'S A LITTLE BEAN?!!!!"

Samuel: "I've heard a lot about you~ You're really cool~ I heard you're always travelling!!! You must have been to many interesting places!!! Can you tell me a bit about it...."
Ed: "This.....sigh....you didn't call here to talk about this right?"
Samuel: "Oh right! I just wanted to ask when Father can come home?"
Ed: "Huh? Didn't he tell you he's got an important meeting tonight?"
Samuel: "This...."
Ed: "Samuel? Are you alright?"
Samuel: "Nothing....Father is coming home late tonight....but he said he'd teach me how to draw....oh! Sorry! I've been taking too much of your time!"
Ed: "That's alright. I enjoyed talking to you."
Samuel: "Really?!! That's great!!! Anyway, I've gotta go now! Bye~"

As Ed hangs up, he says to himself, "It seems being the Fuhrer's family isn't such a good thing after all..."

When he gets home, he should go to bed immediately.

Sixth day

Ed finds Al unconscious on the floor.

Pour tea to King Bradley. Roy makes a remark that Ed never pours tea to him first.

"Speaking of which, why don't you ever pour tea for me first?"
"Isn't that obvious? It's not like I'm your secretary! And from whatever perspective you look at it, of course I should pour tea for the Fuhrer first!"
"But I'm still a guest!"
"....guest?"
"So you've never had that feeling of me being a guest here?!" *shocked expression*
"Who would have that feeling?"

King Bradley says, "Speaking of which, I have that feeling too..."
*sweatdrop* "Fuhrer..."
"Then please pour the tea to General Mustang next time."
"Then I shall be very grateful."
"...no way..."

Today, after 2 free periods, the day will automatically jump to the end of the day [no lunch, etc]. King Bradley asks him to work overtime, to which Ed should agree.

King Bradley gets a call. "....is that so....alright, I'll get back as soon as I can."
Ed: "Is there something wrong, Fuhrer?"
King Bradley: "Oh, it's nothing. My wife just called to say that Samuel hasn't gotten back home yet."
Ed: "But it's so late already and he's still not home yet?!! Did something happen to him?! We have to find him!"
King Bradley: "Samuel isn't the type of child to like bothering people...I don't even know where he might have run off to..."
Ed: "You don't know where he might be? Does he have any place he likes to go regularly?"
King Bradley: "Hmm....I'm usually too busy, so his mother takes care of him...."
Ed: "....this is too....where can he possible be....oh yeah, isn't there a new statue of your likeness at the north gate of the park?"
King Bradley: "I think so....why?"
Ed: "Samuel might be there.....please quickly send people to look for him there..."
King Bradley: "Alright..."

Later on....

"Oh, you found him? Yes....yes...I'll hang up now..."
"What is it?"
"They've found him. But....how did you know Samuel would be there?"
"Because Samuel said he wanted to give you a picture he drew, but it seems you didn't have the time for him...so I thought he probably went to that statue...."
"Thank you...."

"Huh..."
"You had the same experience, didn't you Edward?"
"...I.....no way...."
"....if you didn't, that's okay...this perhaps is the feeling of family."
"....family...."

When Ed gets home, he tells Al to stay where he is. He's going to cook dinner! Al finds it surprising, since before, whenever Ed had to cook dinner he'd just run off. "Well I feel like it today, okay? I don't like it that you're the one cooking everyday, okay? Why....why do you have to ask so much...."
"Thank you, Brother!"
"Why are you thanking me....that's so out of the blue!"

Afterwards, Ed should go straight to bed.

Seventh day [Holiday]

Ed wakes up and thinks he just saw Al turn transparent for a moment, but then dismisses it as hims seeing things. The phone rings and Ed picks up. Al chatises him for being too rude on the phone.

King Bradley: "Is this Colonel Elric? Are you both busy?"
"Ah! Fuhrer! Yes it's me! May I ask why you're calling?"
"Oh...it's like this. I've been a bit busy lately, so there's still some urgent outstanding matters to take care of....I was wondering whether you would be free to help me?"
"....is that so?"

Here, Ed will get the following choices:

Choose "agree".

"I....I understand. I'll be right there."
"Thank you. With your help, this will definitely be finished. Then, I must trouble you."
"Yes!"

After Ed hangs up, he says, ".....sigh.....working overtime on a holiday~~ Even though I don't want to....but..."
Al appears. "Brother, what are you talking about? Of course your work is more important!"
"But Al....you'll be cleaning this place by yourself...."
"It's alright! Brother, you should quickly go now. I'll wait for you."
"Fine. I'll be right back. I'm really sorry, Al."
"Yup! Take care."

Ed finally arrives at Central Headquarters. "Fuhrer," he says, "Are you in there?....I'm coming in now."

"Ah, Colonel Elric~~ you're finally here? I'm really sorry, asking you to come back on a holiday."
"Please don't mention it. So...the documents we need to take care of are....?"
"Hohoho...no need to rush. Since you're here, let's just do things the old way..."
"Huh? Is it..."
"Make some tea first!"

"....alright....I understand...."

A few minutes later, Ed's standing there muttering to himself, "I've actually become used to this routine? This stupid thing..."
At this point, Havoc appears and greets him. "Hey, Colonel Edward! You're working overtime as well?"
"Oh? You're also...?"
"Yeah, because recently things haven't been too stable, so everything's a mess. A holiday....yet I can't go out for a date...."
Breda appears. "I was going to play chess with someone as well..."
Fury appears. "I was going to buy some books on animals..."
Farman appears. "I was going to read some books..."

All four military men: "......sigh......"

Ed sweatdrops. "Umm....you guys work hard then....I'm just going to do my job...."
Havoc laughs. "Haha....the Tea Alchemist?"

All four military men laugh. "Yeah, that name really suits you, Colonel Elric~~"
"YOU GUYS!!!!!"

"Hurry on then. Don't keep the Fuhrer waiting."
Havoc: "Oh right, what kind of new flavour did you put this time?"
"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GUYS!!!!! HOW DO YOU GUYS KNOW!!!!!! AHHH!!!! IT MUST'VE BEEN.....!!!"
"Hahahaha...."
"THAT BASTARD!!! I'M GOING TO GET HIM!!!! ARGGHHH!!!!!!" *stomps away*
"Work hard~ Colonel Elric~~"

Ed goes in to pour tea to the Fuhrer. After drinking the tea, the Fuhrer makes an "Hmmm...." sound. Ed asks what's the matter. "Did I.....did I put something wrong in there?!!!!!! Sorry!!!!!!"

"No need to be so nervous. I just wanted to say, your tea tastes rather nice today!"
"Ah....really?"

"Yes!"
"That's great!"
"Congratulations, Edward!"
"Yes! Thank you for your praise!"
"It seems...you've become accustomed to the job of secretary, Edward."
"...ah?"
"It really suits you."
"......................"
"Now, you can start work, Edward. From now on, I'm going to call you that."
"Really? Alright. This document....."
"Edward, what are your plans for the future?"
"Huh?"
"Since you're already used to this, how about working here in the military?"
"This...."
"In that case, you'll be able to see everyone frequently, right?"
"....I....."

Then, there's a blackout, and an anonymous person [presumably the creators of this game] says "You're really going to choose? Definitely going to choose? Think carefully....it's very important!!!"

You get the following choices:

Pick the first one.

"I understand. It's an honour...."
"That's wonderful, Edward. I've always wanted to drink your tea every morning!"
"Is....that really so.....haha...." *sweatdrop*
"To have such an able secretary, I feel very lucky!"
"No....you're just praising me..."
"Then..."
"Yes, I'll get to work now..."
"Take a look ar this book first."
"Yes! This is.....umm....."The Secrets of Tea"?.............!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Well, since you're going to make tea for me after this, you must have professional knowledge of brewing tea! I'm confident that with your intelligence, you'll be able to make the best tea in the country!"
"......................."
"Fuhrer.....don't do this to me......"

Afterwards:

"Life in the military after this....is all to do with brewing tea........nggghh......"

Then, the creators of this game have a conversation between themselves. They say something along the lines of "Oh~ the Tea Alchemist is so cute~ I don't care~ Just let it be this way~~"

The game ends with Edward happily working as the Tea Alchemist. Uh...yeah.
