Febuary 16th next club meeting!
January meeting- The kids came up with topics and practiced them for the Public Speaking contest. Most of them gave a speach at the club meeting and then a second one at the Coventry district contest! Great job!
Kendall and Katie did a powerpoint presentation at the Awards banquet for Kim Pond, the Community Service Volunteer of the year and eight of our members recieved awards.
While Kristy went on vacation, some of us went to the greens workshop in December and Ryan and Jenna dropped off our basket of food and check for a turkey to the Peacedale Johnny Cake Center.
At our Second meeting this year we elected new club officers, met some new members (welcome Austin, Morgan, Elizabeth, Renee, Adessa and Kamaria) and made Haunted Houses out of gramcrackers and candies. YUMMY!
Congratulations to Brittny, Katie, Kendall, Sequin, Taylor, Amanda, Ryan and Jenna who submitted there recordbooks for judging in October! Way to go!

BBP Adopts a Military Family- In December we adopted a military family. The father is deployed in IRAQ. We bought presents at Walmart for the four kids and the mom so they could have a good Christmas.
We wrote and got a Cumberland Farms "Youth in Action" grant for animal science programs!
All Blueberry Patchers 4-H club entered at least one piece of artwork in the Photo Fine Arts Fair at the Warwick Mall April 13th.
Taylor, Amanda, Jenna, Ryan, Scootie went to the CELS East Farm Festival at URI and Demonstrate Ice Cream Making as part of the Cumberland Farms Grant
Jenna and Amanda's artworks displayed at the URI Fine Arts Gallery in June.
We participated in the Exeter Memorial Day Parade and the West Greenwich Memorial Day Parade.
Blueberry Patchers 4-H members planned and had 4-H Livestock Day at URI's Peckham Farm in June. Workshops on Beef, Dairy and Swine occured as well as a talk from URI undergraduates on careers in animals.
On June 23rd, 8 Blueberry Patchers 4-H members and 6 volunteers went to the zoo to interest and teach children about farm animals. Three exhibits were made for the zoo. Our four farm animals: made of plywood, with hands on flaps that kids pulled up to learn animal facts. Included with the farm animal exhibit was a certificate that said “Jr Animal Scientist” that kids could fill with animal stickers if they went around and learned about each animal and then take home. Over 230 certificates were filled out.
Blueberry Patchers 4-Hers help to run the games at the SRI 4-h Fair. As part of there leadership project they planned and some helped run the egg tosses, pie eating contest, coloring contest and the Farm Chores. The members also showed in many of the animal shows and in the exhibit hall. This year we got done 2 club exhibits for SRI 4-H Fair. Jenna even got Best of Show with her self portrait photo.
Washington County Fair- we completed 3 club exhibits for the fair! All week Blueberry Patchers also showed there animals. Great Job! In addition fmany of them volunteered in the Richmond Grange Steakbooth and in the WCF Exhibit Hall!
