For those of you who are interested in knowing a little more about me, I was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1971, during, I might add the worst snowstorm in a decade.
when I was 6 months old i fell terribly ill with what should have been a fatal case of Spinal Menanjitus. During my youth I spent as much of my time as I could roaming the isolated ridge-lines and swamps near our family cabin which is located in deep forest lands.
Hunting, Fishing, and Trail hiking were and are among my deepest passions. Wood working is something that has run in both sides of my family for quite a ways back and my love of it is strong and persistant. Rarely has there been a time in my life when there wasn't some project or another standing in a corner or laying on a bench around the house.
I have spent time in many forests around north america, and I have a deep and abiding respect for them, for their peaceful quiet, their abundant wildlife, and just the *feel* of them when one stands quietly with eyes closed listening to the rustle of leaves and branches as a gentle breeze whispers through, carrying with it the smells of a late summer storm approaching.
The old saying is true I guess; "you can take a man out of the country, but you cant take the country out of the man."
