Small Title

Blindfolded

Summary: Cloe is in love with her best friend Shawn, causing complications with him and his girlfriend. What happens when his girlfriend breaks up with him because of something he can't see?

CHAPTER ONE PREVIEW:

“I can't deal with it anymore. So I'm going to give you a choice. Make sure to think about it before you answer. . . I don't want you make any decisions you'll regret.”

Shawn was not liking the sound of this, or where this conversation was going. He was beginning to feel a bit uneasy and nervous. A bad feeling erupting in his gut.

“And what choice is that?”

“Cloe or me. It can't be both anymore. You have to choose between us.”

“Choose?”

“Yeah, which one do you want in your life? Cloe? Or me? I don't want to be with someone who puts another girl before me. Maybe if she really was your sister. . . but she's not. And you don't think of her as one either. You're just too blind to see even your own feelings.”

“I'm not blind! Cloe and I are just friends! You're the one that has problems seeing!” Shawn shouted, his temper setting itself free. This surprised Helen, he rarely ever lost his temper with her.

“And Cloe's not the one with the problem either! You are! She would never ask me to choose between you or herself. Fuck Helen, how did you expect me to react to this huh?”

“Come on, Shawn! Cloe is the problem! All this fighting started because of her! Because you chose her over me! Remember?”

Shawn knew what she was talking about. They were supposed to go on a date, their first one, but Cloe called and was crying. He couldn't just leave her. When he got to Cloe she had a knife in her hand and was going to cut herself. So he canceled his date with Helen to stay the night with Cloe.

“Cloe was sad! She was going to hurt herself, you wanted me to just leave her like that and hope that I don't find her name on the list of deaths the next day?!”

“You chose her!”

“Oh my god!”

“Fine! If you can't choose than I'll choose for you!”

“What?”

“I'm breaking up with you Shawn. So there, you can have your Cloe and she can have you because I'm not going to get in your way anymore.”

Shawn's mouth dropped. All his anger dissipated. Was she serious? She was going to break up with him for a misunderstanding? A two year long relationship? All because he didn't abandon his friends for a date?

That was so. . . messed up to him. He couldn't believe he was being punished for being there for a friend.

“You're. . . punishing me for—”

“Not punishing you. Just letting you go, you can do whatever you want now. I'm no longer your 'ball and chain'. Yeah, I heard Jack refer to me as that before. And you didn't disagree with him either.”

“He was just joking around!”

“Whatever. I don't even care anymore,” Helen said as she threw her arms up in the air and walked off on him. Leaving him there standing by the lockers.

He knew this was coming. . . he saw it coming ever since the fights starting happening.

Suddenly his mind went blank. Everything around him disappeared.

Almost as if he really was blind.
