January 16, 2008 4 Bills were signed into law - 1. HB131 Prohibits Police Billing, monitored to insure there were no attempts to include Fire/EMS 2. SB218 Repeal/Renaming of "EMS" tax and we were successful in getting 25 percent of tax collected earmarked for Fire/EMS, Police. 3. HB906 Volunteer Fire/EMS Grant Bill, Grant Approvals from State Fire Commissioner's Office released early days of January2008. 4. HB369 Adds ceretified hazardous material response team member to death benefits act.

3 traffic laws the police departments will be cracking down on are: 1. Head lights turned on during inclement weather, especially when the windshield wipers are on. 2. Snow and ice removal from vehicles before traveling on public roadways, especially when damage has been caused by this debris blowing off moving vehicles. 3. Drivers are to move over and/or slow down in emergency and work areas, personel on a scene can turn in violators by license number and description.
