 Name:- Marc Creese Position:- Defence D.O.B:- 18/04/84
Marc started his playing career with Mardy youth, playing between 1996 and 1998; he then played for Pontnewydd for a season. In 2000 Marc joined the Blues youth academy, and has progressed into senior football at the club. Marc has moved back and fore from the first and reserves teams during the past two seasons. Marc was a regular first team player during the club's 2005-06 campaign, but spent most of last season playing for the reserves in a central midfield role. Marc will be pushing for a regular first team spot again this season.
Name:- Nathan Mapstone Position:- Striker D.O.B:- 28/04/74
Nathan is one of the most senior players in the reserve team squad. Nathan returned to the club last season after taking a few seasons out from the game. He is an experienced player and was part of the first team squad that finished runners up in the Gwent County 3rd Division during season 2002 -2003. Nathan is physically a very strong player and holds the ball up well, he is not as quick as he use to be, but is very fit and will run all day.
Name:- James Parfitt Position:- Midfielder D.O.B:- 02/11/1981
James is a skillful attacking midfield player who likes to show off his tricks. He has just returned to the club after a few months with our neighbours Fairfield United, where he was a regular in their first team's impressive start to the season in the third division. James is a good winger who also likes to play in the centre of midfield. He will always work hard for the team and he hardly ever misses a training session.
Name:- Lewis Warrilow Position:- Defence D.O.B:- 08/11/1986
Lewis is a good young defender who reads the game very well. He has played most of his football at left back and sweeper for the reserve team, but when required has stepped up to the first team and has never let anyone down, usually being asked to play out of position. Lewis, like the other teenagers at the club, has a great footballing future ahead of him.
Name:- Nathan Priest Position:- Defence D.O.B:- 27/07/1977 Reserve Team Captain
Nathan is one of the experienced heads in the reserve team this season. Nathan is a solid defender who always gives 100% he doesn't like to lose. He is one of the fittest players in the squad in recently completed the national three peaks challenge for charity. Manager Rob Browning will be looking towards Nathan on the pitch this season to be his senior figure and help guide the young squad through a tough Gwent Central season.
Name:- Craig Harris Position:- Midfield/Striker D.O.B:- 27/05/82
Craig is another skillful attacking player that the club has produced through the junior system. Craig's best position is not really known as he can play in any of the attacking positions. Craig is a player who hasn't really been able to hold down a first team place during the past few seasons but when called upon does a good job. Craig is a well established reserve team player and has also captained the team.
 Name:- Daryll Brenton Position:- Defence D.O.B:- 13/04/1989
Daryll is one of three teenagers who has broken in to the first team squad during the past year or so. Daryll is a tough tackling defender who likes to get stuck in. He can play anywhere along the back four or as a holding midfield player. He scored his first senior goal this season in a 4-1 win against Coed Eva. Daryll is a player for the future and a number of people feel his best position will be centre half when he matures a little.
Name:- Marc Browning Position:- Midfield D.O.B:- 22/09/85
Marc has come through the Blues academy from under 12’s through to under 16’s. He had Torfaen trials at under 12 level and was a member of the first Blues youth team to reach a cup final. Marc was captain of both the under 14 and under 16 teams. He has represented the Torfaen league at under 16 level and went on to play in the Gwent Central League as a 16 year old at senior level. Marc has been a valuable member of the 1st team squad this season and at only 20 will soon be knocking on the door for a regular 1st team place.
Name:- Lee Freeman Position:- Midfield/Striker D.O.B:- 23/10/1978
Lee is one of the oldest players in the Reserve team squad this season. Lee first started his football career with the Blues first U16's, he then progressed in to senior football as a sixteen year old, but like most sixteen year olds found the step up to much and stopped playing football for a number of years. At 21 Lee re-joined the Blues where he has been ever since. Lee badly broke his leg a few seasons ago during a pre-season game against Caerleon, and missed the whole season, but has shown alot of courage to come back to play football.
Name:- Grant Evans Position:- Defence D.O.B:- 11/03/1982
Grant is probably the most improved player at the club over the last 2 years. After a solid pre-season Grant found himself as first choice defender in the first team, and made a number of appearances early in the season. Grant is a quick player who is good in the air, he likes to get stuck and is an uncompromising central defender. He is an outstanding reserve team player and always gives 100%
 Name:- Leon Catley Position:- Midfield D.O.B:- 10/07/1978
Leon is a quality winger who, for some reason, has taken until this season to have a good run in the first team. Leon is an out and out winger that likes to run at defenders and usually gets the better of them. He is also a great crosser of the ball with either his left or right foot. Leon has been at the club for many years and has been a great addition to the first team squad this season.
Name:- John Arthur Position:- Defence D.O.B:- 25/08/1986
Jonny is a very fit player, who works hard both on the training pitch and in games.He his a mainly right footed but has adapted well on the left hand side of both defence and midfield. He is another young player who has come through the Blues youth set up, but left after under 16's, John returned to the club last summer and will be a very good player with a bit more coaching. Unfortuanly Jonny is a bit quiet and needs to get involved in the soical side of the club as well as the playing side.

Josef has been a massive plus to reserve team manager Rob Browning this season, Jo is strong both in the air and on the ground, he is also very quick over ten meters and is by far one of the fittest members of the club. He trains very hard and is always a front runner in the fitness work. Jo is yet another player who has come through the youth ranks under the guideance of his father Blaenavon Blues Youth supremo Steve Ward. Jo played first team football as a sixteen year old, and will be pushing for a first team place sooner rather than later. Jo has just returned from university.
