The Blackwood Valley Railway is my first serious layout and was started when I was 15, as a place to run my brand new Wrightlines Bagnall and was designed to fit in an existing baseboard that had previously been refurbished. The layout takes its scenic inspiration from the mines and railway at Snailbeach in
The main work on the layout was done in the 5 months before its first exhibition, although the basic oval and loop as well as the bare shells for the 2 main buildings had been built previously, and I had spent about 7 months previously designing the layout.
I am a member of the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association, and strongly recommend joining them if you are interested in 7mm Narrow Gauge at all. They have been very helpful. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and come and have a chat.
